The really sad thing is that we just lost Jack Carter, his v.a., a few years ago. It seems a lot of the reason he was overused, in some fan's opinions, was that Carter really needed the work. Admittedly he really didn't do much to contribute to the plots of "Bass Masters" or "Road Apples", but his turn officiating Ren's funeral in 'Ren's Retirement" was definitely the highlight of an uneven episode.
