When I first got my ponies I customized my Rainbow Dash- changed her eyes and cut her hair. People seem obsessed with styling her hair, so I thought I would post mine. Plus, I thought she looked marvelous on the windowsill today. Most of my ponies are back at home, as well as my custom supplies, because I am not supposed to be distracted by poni during finals. The fascists at Hasbro toys (kidding. What would we do without them?) opted to remove the horizontal rows of holes from the new Rainbow Dash's head. Packaging's identical to the old one, and I didn't notice 'til I opened 'er up, but now she's only got a mane mohawk. So if you really want a nice-looking RD, you'll have to do some hair-work now...

I got my Dash's mane all styled correctly (minus the proper colors) but the eyes still bug, they look more like Fluttershy's eyes. I really want to learn how to fix them up but I am afraid I will fuck up toy.

How I did it was wetting a q-tip with acetone and running it along the curve of the eye in the front, and along the back lashes. Then I re-painted the eyeliner in the right shape.

When I made my custom Derpy, I had to completely remove the eyes with acetone and repaint them by hand. Not fun. Messed it up on at least six different tries before finally getting them right.

I didn't repaint the whole eyes- I used acetone on a q-tip to round her eye, then used black paint to re-do the eyeliner and lashes

Curious -- how did you style her bangs? I had mine staying down pretty well for a few hours by using just my straightening iron to "mold" them down, but they've bounced up a bit. I don't know if I should try heating them again and keeping it up until they stay in that position or not D: I know nothing about doll hair but I wanted a custom RD anyway ;w;

Hot water. Put your RD in the sink with the drain opened to let the water drain out. set her somewhere solid. Pour the water over her head. the weight of the water will pull the bangs downward as long as they are placed across the forehead. If you need to, stop and adjust the bangs on her forehead to be straight in front of her eyes, then pour more hot water. I use an entire mug full microwaved for 3 minutes.

it is not terribly hard to cut rainbow dash's hair but if you don't have experience working fiber hairs then it would take more work. you need to only cut a very little at a time! I barely cut my ponies' hair at all.

Well, in order to do it, I'd have to move up the orange into the bangs, then move up the yellow, then move up the green and add in some blue and violet and I dunno it seems like a lot of effffforrt..
