Atleast someone believes me and to clarify birdos true gender it's simple in north America and Europe Birdo is officially confirmed female while in Japan Birdo is currently undecided(like yoshi) as occasionally they release a Japanese exclusive with Birdo in it and confirms it a girl example being captain rainbow and many other of her appearances

Yep, originally is male, but he likes to wear like female.
In some games he like to change his name to "Birdetta". Now, due to the traumatized new generations, maybe they change his gender XD
