The new female boomboom boss in SMB3DS whom wields a boomerang. She's so adorable, I just had to do a fanart of her.Hmmm, if female boombooms are gonna be called "punpuns" I guess this also what Cassie is considered now. Looks like her shell will need a makeover to reflect that. Maybe her maiden last name will be renamed "Punpun" as well

Super Mario Wiki, it says that in the game Boomboom was only one character.
It also suggests that Boomboom is just his name since in the new game Mario 3D Land, he says his name "Boomboom boomboom!". (Similar to how pokemon talk. I think it's kinda cute.
