Presenting sunny-tempered Spring, with her beautiful bounty of fragrant florals and curious creatures (see what I did there?). It's been a while since I did something in this particular style (more intricate random patterns thrown around), but it's been huge amounts of fun returning to it amidst assessment procrastination and all. (Plus it's the first week of Spring! Although it still feels cold and rainy enough to be Winter still..)
I did the top cutting of her hair (flowers and leaves) before I got to the bottom (fish and lilypads), where I realised I liked the spaced-out effect better. Too late, but something to keep in mind for next time!

P.S Sorry for the dodgy lighting that throws the colours out a little, my camera skills are lacking in almost every way. D:
P.P.S I swear she has eyebrows, they're just white to match her hair and don't show up easily!
P.P.P.S The globby things at the centre of the flowers are rhinestones - less impressive here, but just a little prettier in real life.

Thank you! Papercutting is incredible amounts of fun - there's so much that can be done with colours and layering, even if it takes a little while to finish up! Hopefully as I continue on, I'll be able to learn more and be able to incorporate other mediums into it as well - such as inks or watercolours (something I'm definitely looking forward to, hurrah!).

Thank you! Her hair was definitely the part that was the most fun to do - I was honestly a little scared before I started cutting everything out that the swirls and curves would turn out a bit badly, but it came out much better than I anticipated, I think (yay!)

Thank you! The colours are even brighter in real life - I had the awesome luck of finding the most gorgeous chiyogami papers in my collection that were just perfect! (I tend to hoard papers like a squirrel hoards nuts, haha ) That gradiented blue flecked with gold just at the bottom half of her hair is my especial favourite.

Thank you! The details were so much fun to do, haha. Fun fact: originally she wasn't supposed to have any real details, but I accidentally doodled a fish on her hair during a class (procrastinating as usual), and it exploded out from there!
