Hi there. I am a food and hospitality student, and currently we are researching cake decoration.
I really lvoe this cake, but I need to know, how the hell did you get the patterns around the sides of the cake. It is fantastic! I cant find how you did it!

If you search for Jaconde, you'll find out how easy it is. It's also called a decorative sponge. It uses a stencil where you smear your chocolate paste over and then remove the stencil and pour the jaconde batter over it and bake. Once you're done, cut the size you want and line your frame with it.

It really depends on what you're baking, but a good tip for whipping whipping cream is when you over whip it and it's close to becoming butter just add a little more whipping cream and mix it around. If you're ever in the mood to bake something and you need a little help just note me with your questions.
