Description This was my entry for a contest held by Team Artail. We were supposed to read a Sonic the Hedgehog fan fiction story (“Bloodlines” by Dan Drazen) and illustrate a scene from it. The voting was done by a user’s poll and I came in 6th place out of 13 entries.
This scene is from very early on in the story. Bunnie Rabbot has been attacked by SWATbots while on sentry duty on a foggy morning in the Great Woods. A mysterious stranger (Dan Drazen’s character Sandy) destroys the robots, pins Bunnie against a tree, and shows her a pin, instructing her to give it to Princess Sally.

Thanks!
Sandy in particular was a fun challenge, since I had only your description of her to go by, with the freedom to interpret it.

You did a very good job with it, too.

A part of me is still a little amazed that the story was all that influential to the fandom. But I'm glad that it registered with so many.

Thanks. The winner was never officially announced, but if you go down to the poll and click "current results," you see that the winner (by a long shot) was the first entry [link] done by Kelli "Emmy" Murray.

My personal favorite was entry #4 [link] by Bonnie Gregg. I think the artist is the same person as bonn-fox on deviantart, but she doesn't have the piece in her gallery, so I could be wrong.

I hate to say it, but I think TeamArtail bungled this contest. They haven't posted anything about it since May 2006. The winners have not been announced and as far as I know, prizes have not been awarded.

I originally had some trouble viewing this, but when I clicked "full view," I saw it fine. Then I returned to the page with the smaller version, and for some reason, it showed up that time. Please notify me if you have trouble viewing the picture.
