Agreed. If one should face the devil himself, he would take on an appearance of something you would expect an agel of light to look like. Because you can't hide poison in something that no one would drink or eat. As in says in scriptures "and it is no wonder for Satan himself masqurades as an angel of light."

Not going to critique right but but suffice it to say you are brilliant.
I just wanted to point out the irony of calling Sephiroth clichΓ©! Who do you think the character was inspired by? 
Son of JENOVA (= JEHOVA) who thinks he is a God.
They based him on Lucifer.

I just know that a FF7 fan is going to scream out "Sephiroth!!". Heck, if you play the One Winged Angel theme, it fits this image perfectly. BTW nice drawing.

Actually Sephiroth is modeled after Lucifer. And Sephiroth is a real 'god' in some place on this earth only he is called 'sephirot' in the religion... He kinda remids me of Mithos from Tales of Symphonia.... pathetic he is..

There is nothing wrong with a little bit of cliche-ness, imo. If this is how you envision the character, keep it. The only thing worse than copying character design is changing your image of a character because another more popular character has it.
And yes, you will get harassed for "copying" Sephiroth, but as long as you know that you didn't it is all that matters. And some people WILL believe you, as I do. Nothing is more annoying than people accusing you of ripping of some really famous character, but stick to your guns. Your character will be better for it.
I'm SO glad I'm not the only one that views the character of Lucifer at least somewhat sympathetic. XD The art is awesome, I love the shine on the gold!

I have this random fascination with the character of Lucifer - the most beautiful creature, but the most evil as well. I love the contrast of his nature.

I also like this artwork very much. I myself once thought about drawing Lucifer but when I heard that he was the first and most beautiful being created I thought "man I can't draw anything that beautiful" xD please answer

Very interesting indeed. It's not often that Lucifer is depicted as an actual angel. I think people forget that the so-called 'king of all darkness' was at one point the most beautiful angel of all.

Ah! This is how I have always seen him! Not so dark or dreary, but with blonde hair and dressed in white to decieve! He was the Morning Star, after all. This is absolutely perfect. Wonderful job!

Of all the Lucifer interpretations I've seen, heard, and read, this is the most glorifying and sympathetic. Good pic by the way. Although, isn't that more towards Iblis where he disobeyed God to bow to Adam and that Iblis was made out of fire?

Good for you for portraying good ol' Luci sympathetically! It's nice to see someone else who can look at both sides of a story and decide for themselves rather than following the crowd. Bravo!
Have you read The Fallen by Tom Sniegoski? It has a very similar Lucifer character, only, he fell because he was jealous of His affection for humans over that of angels and started a war because of it. (Luce, that is.) Anyway, they're really lovely books and I recommend looking into them.

There's also a one-winged angel theme in the game Xenogears... in their religion people fell from grace so the only way to return to the Divine is for 2 people to fly to heaven together.
Someone posted here that Satan and Lucifer were the same entity, when in fact they have nothing to do with each other. Satan, among other names, is the fall angel, while the name Lucifer originates from a pagan god. Lucifer roughly means "light bringer", and that reference shines through in the scientific field as there is a type of single-cell organism called Luciferans that make certain parts of water around coral reefs luminesce, and the chemical compound that makes them glow is called Luciferol. The evil context associated with that name is merely another historical casualty of early christendom to demonize all things pagan(and feminine).
I normally dislike the association but I really like the way you've drawn him in a positive light... it's beautiful.

Very cool! I have a question though, that I've asked to many people, and it's this:
If Lucifer was able to create his own realm, Rack up more souls than God, and bring forth the coming of the anti-christ, then would he also become as powerful as god one day?
Answer it if you want, I'm not terribly bothered.

The costume for Lucifer fits him perfectly, & the wing & sun ring behind him make him look truly angelic, & also invoke a very strong image of power. GAH SO GOOOOOD XD

See, I never would have though of the Sephiroth- One Winged Angel- thing if you hadn't pointed it out, and I'm a big Sephy fan. But then, the imagery of a single winged angel is hardly new, (Xenogears played with it, too, and I'm sure I've seen/read it elcewhere as well) and an angel who looses both wings become mortal, right? I don't mean to say that your presentation of the Morningstar is unorigional, simply that it looses none of its power for being a "familiar" (in some circles) concept. I love how his arm provides the ballance for the missing wing, while still emphasizing its absence.
It's got to be hard to keep that white outfit clean, if the stump is still dripping gore after all this time ^_^;;;
And I gotta admit that I've always had a certain amount of sympathy for Lucifer. God contradicts himself so often, and yet his word much be absolute and unquestionable law. ~shakes head~ I look forward to seeing your comic unfold. Everything you have done so far is so brilliant. ^_^
