Gah~! I've been wanting to drawn an agel-type image for sooooo bloody long!!! >____> Time to get my wing-practice up to scratch, methought.

Anyway, this poem was brilliant, and it had swirled around in the back of my mind for about a year and a half or so. And thusly, I went about and drew this. I imagined Israfel to have a rather melancholic expression, no idea why. Originally, I had wanted to draw him with long, blonde hair, but I think this idea came out a little better. The armour (which I had swirling in my mind as well! GAH!) was a little bit of this and that, I tried amalgamating different types of armour from various eras, and most of it was just made up on the spot.

I had decided to make the character of Israfel a little more that simply a musician. I envisioned him as more of a warrior-type angel, hence the armour. Originally, I wanted to draw him with a sword, but I also really liked the idea of a harp (lyre, lute, etc.), so I integrated the two into this very nice-looking harp-sword contraption. Overall, the look is rather pretty, isn't it? Gah, I am so sick of drawing swirls now!! @____@

Israfel looks like a J-Pop star.
