Description
This is a brand new painting that I just finished for my wife, Shannon. It's to commemorate the impending birth of our baby girl. Acrylic on board, 2 feet by 4 feet.
It also represents a branching-out artistically for me... I'm starting to push at space a little more in my paintings, I feel. I'm becoming less afraid of large expanses of color, instead of only hugging contours with my paint. Thematically, I think that this is a benchmark for me in that I am not one to put my own vulnerability out there, normally.

there's so much depth in this piece, and although it is a bit different than your other work, i still see your style all over the place. i like that the painting keeps me interested, i can look here and see one thing, there and see another. i can tell it came from somewhere deep within you. truly a beautiful love poem to your wife and child.

Thanks, Miss Vampi!! I am actually trying to work on that becoming a reality. I just want to be able to offer a really BIG print of it, so I may need to get a better photo shot of the original.

This is absolutely gorgeous, I love it. The colours are so bright and expressive, and the figures are beautiful. I love the crowd in the background, thats a really nice touch, and the words are beautiful as well and add more depth and meaning to an already fantastic image. The sybols around the edges like the hearts and the flowers are really pretty as well.

wow thas beautiful. i love the colours you've chosen, they dont conventionally match (<- if you know what i mean) but they work really well with the tones you've chosen. good composition and i love the bg.

sometimes the logic of math is just not the truth.. sometimes the sum of the parts is greater than.. well you know the rest.. the development of your style is incredibly mature and very strong without overwhelming..

This is an absolutely beautiful piece. There is so much emotion, so much love, so much passion and community in this painting. The aesthetic beauty of it astounds me... the colors, the lyrical wording, the co-existant vibrancy and tranquility. It is painted crisply and with a fluidness/smoothness that I'm envious of. I think this is incredibly beautiful.
The tribute to your wife is so sweet as well. I like how the leaves seem to grow into her navel..it's just lovely. Nature and life is sort of growing out or in from the birthplace. The colors are vibrant yet soft too. I think this is one of my faves you have done so far. It's so meaningful as well. I like art that has meaning.
I'm sure your wife just loves it, or will love it.
