This is the first in a series of dolls for my Sailor Moon OC, Sailor Ares.

The idea for Sailor Ares began when I drew my character Alexa Larten (from my original story, "Blood Youth") in a tattered senshi uniform. Why a tattered senshi uniform, you ask?

Weeelllllllllll....

According to Greek mythology, Ares was the god of war, born of Zeus. Though known mostly as the violent and relentless side of war, Ares was seen as an outcast amongst his siblings, and especially his sister Athena, who was the goddess of victory and the more disciplined, righteous aspect of war.
Not that Ares is an outcast amongst sailor senshi, but she is the sailor of war, death, blood, and (as a more Athena-like aspect) courage.

Here are some stats about Sailor Ares.

Age: about 15 or 16
Other Titles: Lady Ares, or just plain Ares
Civilian Name: in her first life, Alexa Larten (lol! ), but when she visits Earth and poses as a civilian in her second life (as Priestess Ares) she uses the name Nagame Shinsei (when written in proper Japanese form as Shinsei Nagame, her name means "Blessed View")
Birthdate: her original birthdate is unknown, but when she was reincarnated or "reborn", it was on the 4th of November
Zodiac: Scorpio
Senshi Name: Sailor Ares
Power Sources: war, blood, death, and courage

Likes: reading various kinds of literature, studying languages and cultures, meditating, Autumn and Spring weather, wearing simple but elegant clothing like sweaters and dresses, travel, writing poetry
Dislikes: storms, death, sadness, pain, seeing others upset/angry/crying, having to gather the souls of the damned, seeing the souls of the Lost and Forsaken, being near men

Here's a short bit about Ares:

~ Ares was reincarnated by the Guardian of Souls, Priest Cassiel (named after the Biblical angel of loneliness and tears) to be a priestess and guardian of the souls of the dead kept within the walls of the Temple of Souls.

*The Temple of Souls is a large, almost palace-like place that was created by Neo Queen Hades I (aka Sailor Pluto). She also created Cassiel, who is her son in a sense...not necessarily biologically, seeing as he has no biological father.*
Ares is just one of the several priestesses who reside in and guard the Temple of Souls, and all of them are named after goddesses or deities from various Earth cultures. For example, Ares's closest friend is Priestess Cronus, named for the Greek god of the same name. Out of all the priestesses in the Temple of Souls, however, Ares is the youngest/most recently reincarnated.

Each priestess has their own specific duties within the Temple. Ares, being the youngest and considered the most vulnerable when not in her senshi form, usually only works within the Temple's library and keeps all of the books and records in order and in good condition. Ares also trains under Priestess Cronus to learn medicine and natural remedies.

When not transformed into a senshi, Ares is very quiet and shy around others. She only feels comfortable around other women/girls because several men have tried to take advantage of her kindness and compassion for those in need; one nearly raped her. This is because a marriage to a priestess (or priest) of any realm is considered a sign of power and divine blessing, a status symbol nearly any corrupt or power-hungry individual would give anything to have.

Ares has no biological family in her current life. The other priestesses are like sisters to her. The only other people she is close to are:
Helios, the priest of Elysion, who guards the Temple of Souls for Cassiel when he is away.
Hotaruso and Helias Tomoe, two fan-characters I created. They are the twin sons of Helios and Hotaru Tomoe aka Sailor Saturn, and they are also priests of Elysion.
Cassiel, who (obviously) protects the Temple, Ares, and all of the other priestesses. He was the one who decided to reincarnate her soul, seeing that there was a great amount of purity and compassion within it. Cassiel is about 19-20 years old, and has an old friendship with Helios of Elysion.
Princess Eris, Cassiel's "younger sister". Eris was created the same way Cassiel was, without a biological father and only trace biological ties to Neo Queen Hades (aka Sailor Pluto). Though she often intimidates Ares, Eris has a kind side and talks to Ares whenever she makes the rare visit to see her brother.
