Illustration from pages 88 and 89 of TG .The dragon sleeps. What was a dim light in the sky grows brighter. Now it sits across a sand, and the dragon's eye lids twitch faintly.

... I know I haven't posted TG on my DA account for a long time. I sort of went silent. Wishing to hide everything beneath a rock and not let anyone see it. T_T Instead of posting full pages, maybe I will post single illustrations from TG on DA whenever there is an ok one.

Your watercolours are bloody incredible. I love how the colour palette is limited, but so very vibrant. And the crisp edges are delicious . . . Flipping gorgeous work!

Stunning, perfect light and wonderfully sharp and controlled. How do you create such even and sharp areas of color?.. I tend to get those "darker edges" to my colored areas (especially if they are light colors I add) due to drying.. you know what I mean?

Yes, I think I know what you mean. XD I actually do get those dark halos as well. Sometimes I even paint with coffee when I especially want them, since coffee seems to make really extreme halos.
Depending on how staining the paint is, you can let the paint dry, and then with a wet brush with clean water, lift some of the paint back off where the halo is, then dry it away with a towel.
But I dunno. I kind of like the halos. I usually leave them be. <3 They're a pretty, unique part of watercolor paint... if perfect smoothness is desired, then other paint or photoshop would probably work best.

Your illustrations are so beautiful. I really would love to see your progress work.... or... even more... a tutorial! You actually inspired me to start playing with watercolors again, but I suck because I don't really know any techniques. :<

I would love to take a class, but I recently got demoted at work and money is super tight. :< I liked working with water colors when I was younger, but I got into just drawing and it fell behind, so I'm trying to get used to it again. That Tutorial was really nice, I loved that piece, I didn't realize you had made a tutorial for it. XD I just haven't been paying attention I guess. D: I just got hired at Michaels in Silverdale, so maybe I'll be able to afford a class later, I'd really like to take one.. but I'd love to see a video of you working too. That would be really cool. I'd lend you my camera if I knew where the hell it was.

A friend of mine introduced me to TG awhile ago and I've been hooked since. I think your artwork is beautiful, and you are an amazing storyteller. You pull an audience in and leave them wanting more and more as you go on. I really hope you gain more confidence and take pride in showing your work, because you are a pro!
