A double page spread from Toilet Genie .Another favorite spread that I wanted wordless, so I'm reuploading without words. c:
I think my skills at drawing both Vidu and Sedna have improved, but this very first scene where they meet will stay the same, because when I first painted this scene more than a year ago, it was one of the best things I'd ever managed. T_T I'm still proud of it, but as a stepping stone to all the better things I've already painted after it, and the even BETTER better things in my future.

The similarities in design between Vidu and Jesus are kind of undeniable. XD What with the glowing halos and both of their being sons/suns of various natures.

I think that's -why- I like Vidu (well, not just Vidu, but Toilet Genie itself) so much. I never see anyone throw in as much religious symbolism and imagery as you do, and that stuff in fictional works will make me squee until the cows come home.

this is incredible. really powerful piece. i'm behind on TG (I'M SLOW OKAY) but i can't wait to get to this point in the story, i caught a couple of the other recent pages that i think are part of this sequence because i can't help but look at your watercolor stuff, it's amazing!! you probably answer this all the time or have answered it elsewhere and i missed it, but is there still going to be some kind of TG print edition? i do much better with print books than online.

oh geez no, maybe it's better you wait to read it all! Because chapters 2 and 3 were always meant to be read together with no space in between and chapter 3 isn't nearly done yet, so it would be like ... watching Inception, and stopping halfway through. WTF. (Not ideal for a webcomic platform, but lacking other options...) So just save it away for as long as you need. The longer you wait, the better the read will be.
I guess you're asking about a graphic novel? I hope maybe someday. Printing it will cost more than buying a car, so I'll just be over here praying. I've been printing it per chapter, which isn't ideal, but having anything in print at all has been really helpful promotion. 8D So that is good.

Usually on dA I look at something for a few seconds and then comment or fave it, but this was so special I've looked at it for way longer before typing something. The light from the pool has a lovely atmosphere to it, it looks so bright. The animals look very distinctive. Well done, great work!

How do you make the water GLOW like that? I know it's not some weird filter effect, just actual understanding of how to show light. "Just", hah! I wish I could watch you work on one of these.

Looking back at this, I really love how opressive the darkness feels, the contrast between that and the light from the water is perfect. I also love your eye for detail, like the little bit of blood around the wolves paws. Not to much, just enough.

Just out of curiosity, would you mind me using it in my storytelling? I do campfire stories for small children around Halloween.

These parts of TG are based on several myths from several cultures (namely, the Native American story of coyote/raven bringing the sun combined with Jewish myth of Firmament), so have at it.

Of course, I'd have to take some artistic license with the later parts of what you've already got since they are small children. (Most were 6 and under)
Though, I did have different versions of each story I told due to the variety in age groups. I only got one group of heckling kids, so I made up this story on the spot [link]

I like your comics because I'm happy when I understand things (like know) and still happy when I don't, because that adds extra mystery to the whole strange and beautiful world you're creating and gives me an excuse to read everything again.

Im loving this part of the story so much. It is so pretty, and i love folklory stories, and I love how youve chosen to draw it. it really gives the right feel for the subject.

I really enjoy the whole legend way that you depict the story, and the artwork is just blurry enough that you get both this sense of timelessness and awe from it, but in a way it gives it this aged look too... almost like it's been around for a while.
I laughed when I saw the "Well?" off to the side. It sounds kind of like an impatient kid demanding to know what the point of the story is. Or maybe it's Skittles wondering just what the heck is going on. Who knows?

The story itself I understand pretty well. Besides the "OOOOO PRETTY!!" -ness of these pages, I love how you've phrased the story. Really feels like a mythical legend.
The only teeny tiny detail that bothers me, and it may be just me/my computer screen I'm having a little difficulty reading the text on this page. I think it feels like the colum of text is just a tad too narrow. My eyes are having a little dificulty focusing on it.
But this minor issue will probably not matter when you eventually get ch. 2 done and printed. Two page spreads are easier to read when they are printed.
