Description Throughout all of history, every civilization (no matter how powerful) has been wiped out by a more advanced one that moves in. It is too much to hope that ours is an exception to this rule. In the vast universe beyond our skies, there could be countless extraterrestrial powers with their sights set on our tiny blue planet, bent on our total extermination. But also, what if an invasion is already happening? Conspiracy theorists insist that aliens already inhabit our world, but our governments have covered it up. We may never know... we can only hope that the truth is out there.

I'm just thankful that there's no conceivable reason why an extraterrestrial power advanced enough to reach us would have any interest in our planet.

Well, it is a long shot, but what about the resources? Not the organisms (what are the odds that aliens are chemically similar enough for that to be a concern), but Earth is high in many elements that could be useful to a space-faring species, not to mention the geothermal and solar energy that could be harvested here.

Yeah, but there are probably hundreds of nearby planets with the same or better mineral and energy resources.
