Description Here is a sketch for my senior project of Ty walking through the battlefield. It displays the armor worn by the "Living Dead" squad, along with a plasma SMG.

The armor itself is comprised of nano fibers woven together for the undergarment with plating formed by bonded nano-computers. The undergarment can protect from low energy fire and blunt force weaponry, but it is vulnerable to high-power fire, such as that of a long range plasma rifle or heavy explosives. It's plates are much less vulnerable, but will surrender to a long range rifle after a handful of shots (hopefully you can figure out you're being shot at by then ). If you did not noticed, the armor is based off of the very Hierarch Army's armor as depicted by the Worker's helmet on the ground. The reason for this is not just due to their previous citizenship under the Hierarchy, but shows their continuing support of the Hierarch system. They are not rebelling, but surviving.

As for the weaponry, it is much heavier than any human rifle or gun, but for Formics it is as an M16 is to us. With a foldaway stock, it is relatively compact. Though the rear is burdened by the electromagnet (it's the black thing on the back of the SMG), the weight is evened out by the electronics and amplifiers in front. The electromagnet's settings are on the right flank of the SMG, just in front of the trigger. The trigger is embedded into the handle for more purposeful fire rate control (there is a slight resistance when pulling the trigger so that single shot is easier, and forces you to squeeze for full auto). Though it is an SMG, the plasma weaponry of the Formics is meant for accuracy and efficiency, which is why a holographic sight mounted, but still it has a high firing rate.

Ty is a Drone who commanded hundreds of soldiers before the war (and did so for a short period during the war for the Hierarch Army). As one of the few the Master Tacticians, Ty was not only well respected by the Drones, but by Workers, Monarchs, and even the Hierarchs. When the Drone was said to have defected, no one believed the claims (actually, Ty's guilt is only for cleaning up the evidence of the Drone's companion's treason; mated to a Worker, Ty discovered a paper trail leading to its companion, and deleted the information). On top of this, Ty was an abnormal Drone with not only leadership qualities, but a seemingly fearless personality, whose only soft spot is the Drone's love relationship. Ty was murdered after suffering multiple plasma wounds around the abdomen causing massive internal bleeding. Damage was added by the fact that the shooter burried the smoldering barrel of the gun into Ty's abdomen, adding some sadistic torture to the Drone's execution. After the Drone's death, Ty's mate became the head of Hierarch Tektay's Guard (Tektay knew of Ty's companion's treachery, and recruited the Worker as an effort to save the mate's life), and this plays a key role later in the war.

Really nice character design. He looks cool and interesting. The shading is done nicely for the most part except for a few areas where it becomes to dark to make out your details. Like where he is holding his gun. I would suggest that you try to shade a with more light areas for better contrast so you dont lose important details. Overall this is really awesome though.

Formics as in from "Ender's Game"?

No, they're Latin name would be Formica bipedal. It's an original species I made, and the name is derived from the insect I based them on (the ant, whose base Latin name is Formica/Formic). Sorry for the confusion

I see, though that is also why the Ender's Game species is called "Formics", since they too resemble ants.

Ah, I guess I'll have to read that sometime. Other than the creatures' names and apparent description, the similarities end . Though my story has humans in it, they're origin is a mystery (within it of course, I know where they're from) and they act as instigators to the alien civil war.

Again, sorry for the confusion.
