Description Scalids are distinct among radial animals for their long flexible arms and strong dextrous fingers. Herbivorous species (well-camouflaged) grow largest and exhibit climbing tripedalism, always having at least two arms gripping a surface. Carnivorous Scalids (vibrant colors) are have much better reflexes and are therefore more comfortable with swift acrobatic maneuvers. A few species have evolved bilateral symmetry, allowing them to brachiate; they also have inflexible curved fingers with articulating spines that allow them to swing not only from branches, but also to pierce and slide in the undersides of Tree Liliforms' leaf-plates.
