The full scope of the city and bay look wonderful here. Great vantage point
You picked a great time too; the lights illuminating the land whereas the sky lights up the water. Fantastic

thanks! this is quite an old photo, long before i figured out how to do exposure blending in panoramas.

Exposure blending?
Is that to correct for potential differences in value between the edges of the frame and the middle in each shot? Or is it to better join night photos which use long exposure?
I've just gotten into panoramas a bit, so that could be neat to try

yeah it's usually for vignetting, as you described. there are some great open-source panorama stitching and blending apps for it.

beautiful, how many photos did you stitch? or was it in wide angle and cropped off the top and bottom?

i believe it was 13-14 frames stitched.

thanks again!

it was a pretty spectacular evening, back in nov. '05. i called this "after" (the storm) but it was really between breaks in the rain. i just hope it translated well in this pano, regardless of how much detail has been lost with the resize down. you can't please everyone all the time!
