+Chapter 2+

A doll of doubt, held by fading dreams
- From these tears, my heart spills
--- (A blade so sharp it cuts my seams)
- Too worn to bear my countless ills

And I'm fading...
I'm fading

Hope, so delicate, like feathers bound by thread
- For my echoed failures, this is the cost
--- (Discard me, I've no love left to shed)
- To the cold moonlight, I'll gladly be lost

And it's fading...
It's fading

The sky's vast embrace, how gently Angels fall
- Singed feathers.. gold feathers?
--- (Within these arms I don't feel so small...)
- Sun-soaked wings in obsidian tethers

And I'm fading...
Into you.

The poem's verses on the image is a little mixed around, so I wrote the actual order here. I wrote this poem about a year ago, when Ty did Chapter 1.
In retrospect, I am sad I didn't have more of Kaej (the boy) appear in my chapter, but also, part of Pheyd's story is that she didn't realize he was there all along, like the stars that surround her.
I know I shouldn't go divulging all the metaphorical meanings here, since we like keeping their story ambiguously poetic, but I really wanted to muse on how... Pheyd's burning angel wings are not divine punishment for being a bad angel, or something like that. Metaphorically speaking, everyone is an "angel" when they want to love someone. They're an angel because they love, give, and cherish unconditionally. The only reason Pheyd nearly loses her wings is simply because she worked herself thin, and ran out of love... which, naturally, turned into pain. You can only love for so long and get nothing in return, you know? But, as fate would have it, as the moon falls from grace, she lands in the arms of a shooting star...
