She is meticulous about her studies and makes sure to not miss any important points. The same goes to chores and any task given to her, making her a very efficient worker.

This was something she never really had the trouble of understanding, so she never really complained and was already more than happy when they could all sit together at the dining table.

This was the kind of family situation Masumi had to grow up with, but it never really bothered her as she also made herself busy through her studies. She idolized both of her parents' hardworking nature and decided early on that she'd study hard for her family to give them an easy life when it was her turn to work. Her parents usually bought her whatever they thought she wanted, but knowing better than to be frivolous with their financial situation, she became more practical than her parents were when it came to money. While she did appreciate their thoughts, she believed that the money could've been used to buy a few days' worth of groceries instead.

Her daily routine usually consisted of home, school, and the grocery store(since she usually made dinner for the three of them). Masumi didn't join after-school clubs and preferred to study in her spare time, which is why she didn't have much close friends and didn't get involved with others often. She didn't have trouble talking to others though and was generally well-liked in school despite being elusive half the time. In her own way, she had fun with studying and found it very rewarding when she was able to understand lectures easily. The only time she was ever with others were usually when she was begged to tutor some of her classmates and somehow found herself in study groups with them-- although they usually did more goofing around rather than studying, much to her dismay.

At the end of her middle school years, her father got a promotion and was assigned to an office in a suburban town far away from their city. This gave their family the idea of moving to said town, but her mother couldn't leave her job that easily since it's one of the limited sources of income they had. So instead of making their father move alone, Masumi came with him knowing that he probably wouldn't be able to take care of himself properly if he were to live alone. This wasn't a hard decision for her to make since she didn't have any attachments to the city other than her mother. And so she and her father left her mother's side for a while, planning to return when she finished high school in Misawabi High.
