Upon first glance, Kayo gives an air of elegance and serenity to those around her due to her natural good-looks and the distant look her eyes usually retain. While this is true when you do not know her on a personal level, high expectations you’d have of her will be immediately struck down upon approach.

Although she is an extremely diligent individual, she has below than average aptitude it comes to academics and has less than average affinity with sports. As hard as she strives for perfection in both fields, her study habits seem to do no good on her as she usually ends up flunking or barely passing half of her classes. But despite these, she is a very cooperative and reliable student who always does her best with tasks given to her- which usually has good results as long as it doesn’t require her to memorize any algebraic formulas. When it comes to people who want her advice, she is sophisticated and empathetic, especially to her friend’s woes.

Another possible reason for her low academic capability, is her heavily allocentric nature, which diverts most of her attention to other people’s welfare and interests rather than her own. Most of her supposed time for studying is usually spent doing favors for other people and perfecting the tasks given to her by others instead of focusing on herself. She finds helping others a very rewarding task and makes her less insecure about herself. Along with this is she is weak-willed and a pushover to a fault, which is why she has a hard time declining requests or saying anything to hurt others.

Her mood and tone is usually very calm no matter what kind of situation she is in. Panic as she may, but no one would really be able to tell if she’s panicking or not because of her soft voice. This trait of her allows her to be dishonest about most of her opinions on others, because not much can easily read through her poker-face. No matter how bad of an impression someone makes on her, she always replies with flamboyant words as she attempts to ‘think positive’ and not see the fault in others. This can also apply to her way of thinking as she already knows that she doesn’t do well with academics so she focuses all of her attention on others in order to be useful somehow.

When she’s not spending majority of her time helping someone else, she is usually immersed in artistic activities such as painting and writing. Her perfectionist attitude only gives fruit when she’s helping others and when she paints. She is also very conscious about her looks(which may be her only redeeming feature, in her opinion) so she tries her hardest to look prim and proper everyday.
[History]
Kayo was born in a simple family of three, which consists of her, her mom, and her dad. She was the only daughter the family and was very much doted on by her parents. They all used to live in the city in an apartment wherein her father used to model in his younger years, but retired from it in order to pursue his passion to paint, while her mother was a simple service worker. She had a very happy childhood with her parents and grew up to be a very helpful person because of her parent's overwhelming influence in her life. She has a close and tight relationship with both her mother and father, to the point where she can open up to only them about any problems she had. Her parents always wanted the best for her, and she in turn tried her best to meet their expectations...

As she grew up and went to school, she was always praised for how well she resembled her father's looks and her mother's generous personality. Her elementary school life was probably the easiest part of her life, because it was mostly play and noone would blame you if you failed. She was well-liked by her classmates and friends because she was helpful and nice to everyone despite being a tad bit ditzy with regards to classwork.

When she entered her middle school years, things proved to be harder for Kayo as her lessons became harder for her to internalize. Although she got along well with majority of her classmates, she apparently wasn't very strong academically. Her friends proved to be really supportive and helped her out a lot of times. But as her time in middle school passed, she started to immerse herself in her co-curricular activities more and became less focused on trying to improve her grades, as she knew that passing(although barely) would be enough for her parents to be happy with her. It was also at this time where she started taking painting and literature seriously because of being inspired by her own father's artistic skills.

Despite all the positive people surrounding her life, it didn't help much with her slowly deteriorating self-esteem because of the generally imposed importance of getting high grades in order to get into a great high school and university. While she felt happy with the people around her, most especially her supportive parents, she started feeling the need to help out and do more for others in order to make up for what she lacked. This in turn, made her grades drop down even more, and her wish to get into a great high school for her parents was already out of reach. Although her parents could find a way for her to get accepted in a certain city highschool that focuses on sports and arts, she opted for a simple one in her mother's hometown of Seiiki in order to be stress-free away from a high-paced school life. As a result, she and the rest of her family moved into her mother's former home, and started her quiet and serene school life in Seiikii.... Or so she thought.
