Description I always liked the juggernaut from CoD, but I fealt it was a little to "easy" of a solution, as it was basically just an EOD suit bulked up with some plates. I wanted to do something like that here, but designed to match the look of my nvg sets and to feel lighter and more real in a sense. The idea is that one guy in a squad wears this, and is the guy to kick in a door and enter the room first.

Hope you like it!

I see u are up too dayed by military technology. I saw that by the sniper scope too.
I love the idear of the F.A.S.T. System (thx for the name to sinsetsurfer ) and never see this befor. I like the inception style and its in my eyes very usefull. I searched by google but it seams the company is down. So I am very disappointed that I can never own this. So I see me forced to build one by my self. The same concept are existing for flat Pistol Mags like 1911 and can buyed. But only the hard case not the pouch. There was an article on the Mil-Spec Monkey page with a pouch but can't find a shop to buy one.
milspecmonkey.com/index.php/we…

I would shape the masks eyes  in a V not in a sad Wall-E face because the enemy get more fear of V shaped eyes.

yup! Sorry I didn't see your question in time to answer for you. Strac ST-1 F.A.S.T. system. I haven't tried one yet but I'd like to. I like the idea of ideally having your reload motion not vary based on each magazine's location.

What's the Mag setup called? Never seen a setup like this before and I've been a trigger puller for a long time. This would've been a nice accessory to run in Afghanistan.

He can use whatever, I didn't want to obscure the design by putting a gun in there.

Hello my name is Rio Saludares, I am an art student at the art institute of Dallas

My teacher is asking me, on his behalf to use your concept to model a 3D model, for a portfolio piece.

Demonstrating the skills of 3D modeling. All concepts and work use for this model will be cited from the original artist. (you).

Please let me know if you approve.

Hey Rio,

I'm a little confused, are you going to model it and use it, or is your teacher going to model it and use it? Just a little odd that your teacher wouldn't ask himself. Also, which concept piece are you talking about?

Apologies Alex.
Yes, my teacher asked me, to ask you if he could use your concept art. He would like to model this piece out in 3D. The only thing he would use it for is a piece in his portfolio. As a demonstration of 3D modeling.
Your concept was one of few that I looked for, this is for a 3D character molding class at the art institute of Dallas. When my teacher saw this, he wanted me to ask you if he could model it.

Rio.

I love the design and really don't want to nitpick but no soldier in their right mind would carry a grenade attached by the spoon. To much bad juju happens and the spoons are super flimsy. They tend to slip out and go off. Learned this first hand actually, but with a smoke grenade thankfully. The overall design is excellent and could actually work if one were to use superdense poly-carbonate in its construction.

AlexJJessup In reply to BlastWaves [2013-08-27 00:08:16 +0000 UTC]

It's a real thing, so feel free to use it. I didn't invent it! I prefer to research as many cool real things as possible and work with that. Makes the design more believable. Whoever designed the magazine FAST system did a lot of research and development that a concept artist can't/doesn't have time to do. May as well work with that instead of assuming you can do better.

Shoot him to grenades! Shoot him to grenades ... It is very cool armor, but those grenades are at very bad places.

AlexJJessup In reply to Narg007 [2013-08-25 10:23:29 +0000 UTC]

Grenades only explode when shot in games lol. In real life, it would be very hard to make a grenade explode as they use Composition B as the explosive, which is very resistant to things like sparks and impacts.

This is some highly-detailed amazing artwork, but man this is too much gear, too heavy and unrealistic for MOUT ops. He'll need to run, dive, drop to a knee and survive extreme heat temperatures, his gear needs to allow for some serious flexibility. His natural senses are completely blocked off, he'll need to switch back into natural senses on the fly, nonstop. Just sayin, I didn't learn this from Airsoft or videogames.

AlexJJessup In reply to dagoth-jeff [2013-08-18 04:25:40 +0000 UTC]

I appreciate the feedback! This is more entertainment design than an actual design for the military. Still, I try to strike a balance. Most of the weight would be coming from the armor, his gun and the M320 grenades (which in reality would be carried by someone else). He's got no backpack, the FAST mag dispenser only carries 4 magazines, and his arms are unobstructed.

Think of the juggernaut suit from CoD, I liked it, but it was way too bulky to ever work in UO. I wanted to make something a bit more real than that, but still intended for the entertainment side of things.

dagoth-jeff In reply to AlexJJessup [2013-08-18 04:35:00 +0000 UTC]

Yeah it's definitely great protection but he can't have split-second mobility, which would save him in crowded buildings. Good stuff, though!
