Reason why he is a PMCer
Shitty gun; Stocks, even collapsible ones, would be better than none. No stock is bad. 7.62x39mm is shitty at AP. Large diameter, slow bullet.
Crappy gear: Liquid armor sounds cool, but apparently is just too heavy RN. Maybe future stuff gets better.Β Unless that hat is Kevlar, his head's miiighty vulnerable.Β
It looks like a futuristic insurgency.

Yep, with that cocky attitude look and horrible trigger discipline, he is definitely a private contractor...

Is there any particular reason he is wearing two watches?

On his right hand is just two leather bracelets. You're totally right though; I never realized it would seem like he's wearing two watches!

The fact that the poor trigger discipline is intentional made me like this even more.

I do like the poor trigger discipline also, the only thing that tipped me off in the picture is that he had past or present military ties by his tattoos. I do not have ANY military experience and still know trigger discipline, nor have I taken any safety classes. It is kinda just Β common sense. "Finger on trigger, gun goes boom, finger off trigger gun goes no boom".
Besides all that criticism I still love his art and the picture.

If a slight pressure on the trigger, like he's doing, made the gun go "boom" then he would have much worse things to worry about. The gun is also pointed in a direction that even if he pulled the trigger from some sort of "bad" reflex it wouldn't hit him or anyone else. Safety is most likely on as well so that's always an added safety measure.Β

Do you start in black and white first or colour?
π: 0 β©: 1
AlexJJessup In reply to Nathan-K-Williams [2013-12-17 05:24:51 +0000 UTC]
Color, but I always have a black filled layer set to color on top that I can toggle on/off to check values. I find that I basically repaint it if I try to add color to the b&w. Also, I grab colors, textures, details etc from photos a lot while I work so it just makes sense to go through the whole process open to adding/changing colors all along the way.

I use a Wacom tablet to draw and paint directly in Photoshop CS6. I use the brush/eraser tool 90% of the time.

Thanks man! I use photos quite a bit, but the main 'secret' to getting paint to look real and photos to look painted is to paint the light and shadows on everything so the darks and lights match.Β
