Thanks ~Tithe and * skulpturro I love you both )Anyway, I took this at scarbourough faire. Tech stuff:
Sunlight
Sony F828 (handheld)
Lots of photoshop because: the Sony F828 picks up quite a bit more red than it should. In all honesty it's one of the biggest peeves I have with it, but I photoshopped the picture so that the red would not be so pervasive.
And now I'm posting because I like the bird and believe it's beautiful
Hope you all agree and enjoy!EDIT: Fullview because if you don't you won't see the detail in the feathers or around the eye. Those add to the picture, in my mind so please fullview in order to see the art in its entirety.

Great shot and a beautiful scarlet macaw! The colours seem just perfect to me and I really like the picture overall, it's an interesting angle to the subject. The way you have cropped the photo is nice too, you made it so that the whole picture is about the bird, and its magnificently colored feathers.

Wow!! Great capture... The only peeve really that I have with the 828 is the purple hazing....Does anyone else have this problem..Oh one more..The noise in dark places or on slower iso's...Other than that the color of this camera is like no other that I have seen!!! I just adore mine!!!

No, the purple hazing is something I knew about before buying the camera, but bought it anyway. Good machine though. The other thing I dislike about it is the high red saturation which ruins some otherwise great photos. Oh well, the rest of it works well, but someday I will have to upgrade.

My heart nearly stopped when I saw this shot. It's so elegantly, cleverly seductive, with that one cold green eye just daring you to look on. The arrangement of the feathers around it just adds to that alluring sort of quality. The level of detail is just right to attract attention but not deviate from the initial impact--and I LOVE the red crest feathers.
