Where do I begin my list of why I love this photograph?
The feathers? Their breathtaking, vibrant, almost iridescent green? And oh, geez, the fact that your camera picked out each barb on every feather makes me melt with glee... *sigh*
The eye? It's amazing too, almost confrontational in its gaze.
And...That lovely surprising area of red feathers glows and explodes from the lower right corner and makes my retinas sing. 
The intimacy and closeness of this shot are fantastic. Beautiful composition, brilliant photo.

Great shot. Having the one eye showing is really amazing as well. It really catches the viewers attention and then it almost forces them to view the rest of the photo and its great colors. The details and everything about it, they're just simply hard to resist.
