Description , the skin dripped from his fingers & the blood beneath was clearer than the truth, rivulets of rainsong pouring down the storm drain straight to the pacific ocean ; he never needed to cry. "the clouds

shed enough tears for all of us," he told me once and i remember

when i first met him, those arms outstretched & palms like little pools, oases running through lifelines. the fortune teller told him he would only live as long

as the storm

"it's the water in my veins," he said; "it washes away the stardust & we are all drinking our ancestors' ashes, did you know my grandfather tasted," he said, "like raspberry cordial & did you know that freckles

are like nebulae & your cheeks are full of moonlight, did you know that thunder

only claps after the lights go out?"

when i was young i counted miles in the silence before those soundwaves drowned my ears in rumbles. the longer the silence the farther the light & now, my voice is racing to catch up with your radiancy. sometimes we can see but we always hear late & last night i prayed

that some day the light would reach me at the same time the thunder cracked my bones in two & maybe that is why i dreamed up so many nightmares. maybe that is why life always seemed like a burnt photograph, still smoldering on the sidewalk, put out in the rain like a foundling already wrapped in a shroud, rainchild

paint me a sarcophagus on the inside of my throat & if you find my voicebox, crack it with your thunderclapped hands because some days i think we speak too much

of that gray sky & we need to forget ourselves more often, rainchild

will you teach me how to listen?

you've captured the essence in a word - a yearning for the undertones, something hidden in the rumblings of the storm.

i can never get enough of him. everything about him is wonderful - so free and peaceful. hes a little reminder we all need every now and then. i think im slowly getting in touch with that part of myself.

as always, your word choice is splendid. your style is starting to remind me of andrea gibson's.

Adagiobunny In reply to hemvagen [2013-02-03 22:29:15 +0000 UTC]

i completely agree - a reminder i should paste all over my walls & ceiling because i forget it all too often.

though he has his troubles underneath the freedom... the girl with the yellow raincoat... he believes so fervently in the truth & what is beyond the truth, he knows exactly what has happened & he faces it head on (it can be crippling, you know, blinding, to have so much truth within you)

oh you flatter me, dear. i wouldn't quite go that far. but thank you as always

hemvagen In reply to Adagiobunny [2013-02-06 01:04:16 +0000 UTC]

and that is why he is so wonderful.

oh shh, i would.

Adagiobunny In reply to hemvagen [2013-02-09 22:57:17 +0000 UTC]

i will.

good point... the words to the left are the ones i always read when i'm laying in my bed - they're about the irony of her death. the yellow raincoat girl - she was like rainchild's sun, but with her death she lit the world. she's the catalyst. she's the everything. (have i ranted to you about how important she is? she's important. she's SO important.)

oh pshawwwwwww

hemvagen In reply to Adagiobunny [2013-02-11 02:03:00 +0000 UTC]

you need to tell me more about raincoat girl sometime soon. rant at me about it yes. aaah the catalyst! like the spider? o:

dont pshaww me!

Adagiobunny In reply to hemvagen [2013-02-20 23:45:09 +0000 UTC]

i will have to... well, not really like the spider. the spider jolts us - pulls us back, reminds us of where we are & where we aren't. she's kind of like that, in an odd way, but she's a different catalyst - rather than a catalyst for reality, a catalyst for movement, for thought, for change. she is propelling us forward, the driving force of our ambitions & our fiery passions, she turns our tears into fists that punch through the floor, she grabs us by the shoulder blades & the roots of our hair & the palms of our hands & pulls us out of the depths of our black hearts.

i will pshawww you ene

oh, like my calico? "calico catalyst..." from... "20" from untitled.txt i believe. that makes a lot of sense to me!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Adagiobunny In reply to hemvagen [2013-03-22 22:08:19 +0000 UTC]

i think so, something close to your calico!

though not a cat... not sure who i would equate her with. more a force, perhaps, like a stormcloud. rainchild's found source, from whence he pulls his confidence, and later, his strength & his reason & his passion & his drive.

she is the martyr who never died.

aya, my dear!

yes...

we can stir a soup
somewhere lower throat...
chest...
heart

like witches... i used to say
wrong word: it's hag
well, nothing wrong with both...
in this new world...

and start meeting

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Adagiobunny In reply to AnnaPaar [2013-02-10 20:35:56 +0000 UTC]

so glad you've found something
in my friend here -
he helps us realize, "stir a soup," as you say.

ah, the witches & hags - as in macbeth
with their prophecies & conjured images,
playing with truth, foul or fair.

meetings indeed!

AnnaPaar In reply to Adagiobunny [2013-02-11 17:55:35 +0000 UTC]

yes did!
now we're all talking

soul spaces

by witches you remember macbeth! wow!
hmm, need google to see... bit clear
... i remember (only) saw the opera

playing with truth
oh my wow, what a wording!
and sounds much more accurate to me right now
then "finding truth"
or "telling truth"...
yes
we just need get aware...
sometimes maybe is even
truth playing with us...
... when anna feenks wants be sooo good
...
blah

enjoy the afternoon, evening, dear Awufe!

soul spaces!!

macbeth as a play -
plays so much with the truth,
truth plays with us,
with guilt knocking knocking knocking at every
character's core

insanity abounds! i love it.

i'm glad you enjoyed it, and appreciate the unconventional stream! i've always rather thought conventions (while eternally useful in some situations) aren't always needed to convey points with raw emotion, and it is often easier without them - but not everyone shares my point of view, of course. so, it is a breath of fresh air to be reminded there are those who do agree.

JustBecause62 [2013-01-05 02:13:23 +0000 UTC]

You ask for my thoughts...well here's how they're going about now:

same as I thought; you know you made it all different and why rainchild? but the talking song is like smiling deities I may or may not believe in. And if you thought you'd known, you wouldn't have said it so I can take this as my own as much as yours because it speaks my truth too. What do you say? It belongs to everyone who sees through the pixels.

He is beautiful and I want to meet him too. can I listen?

Well. There's the stream of my consciousness for you.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Adagiobunny In reply to JustBecause62 [2013-01-19 23:21:06 +0000 UTC]

it is our song, of a collective we:
yours, & mine, & the rainchild's together
as our art speaks eons with its wondering,
wanting heart, we all want
to belong, long to belong
to this: to ourselves,
to the world.

of course you can listen, my dear - you will always listen. i love rainchild to pieces - you'll find him out there...

Reading the part that says: "we are all drinking our ancestor's ashes" made me think that if you were to search our bodies you would find something in you that belonged to your ancestors. Every bit of you is made up of some part of someone else. It's in your genes I guess. And I've been wondering whether or not that applies to personalities. Do you believe that at all? That even the nonbiological parts of us came from our ancestors?

Adagiobunny In reply to leftb4right [2013-01-19 23:23:55 +0000 UTC]

ahh, i love these thoughts! i do rather think that even in some small way, our mysterious thoughts stem from somewhere: maybe a sort of well, if that analogy will take off: a well from which we all draw water... i believe we are our own selves, but we are influenced by a deeper meaning, perhaps. we take the pieces & the fragments lent to us & rearrange them to create something new, grow a new branch, reach for a new light...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

leftb4right In reply to Adagiobunny [2013-01-26 06:24:33 +0000 UTC]

Wonderful! I love it! Of course that would be it, taking what we have and making something new from it. People do it all the time don't they?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Adagiobunny In reply to leftb4right [2013-01-27 17:56:25 +0000 UTC]

yes, they do! after all that is what art is, is it not? we take fragments of what we see & feel & perceive, rearrange bits of reality to create a new quilt from which future artists can draw inspiration...
