Description This is a great conversation piece when I'm travelling. It's a good overnight bag as it's big enough for a change of clothes. It's 20 inches long with an oval end 9 x 6 inches.

These were popular during the revolutionary war for transporting personal effects. Beautiful Work!

It's beautiful. Looks like something you'd see in a movie.

Probably a western or on a ship in the ocean. Thanks for your support.
P.S. I have strapped it to my motorcycle b4 which just isn't right but it's mine.

Is it just a roll type container? I never heard of this... but I never travel so that explains that. lol Well, I make it to the porch swing under the yard tree and have a cup of coffee.
Anyway... I like it. You come up with some great ideas. Thanks for sharing.

It's actually sewn about a 2/3's of the way around the ends leaving a lid that wraps over the edge. The wings at either end ensure that things don't fall out.

I have wondered what a "portmanteau" was for many years. Now I know. Thank you for that.
