Description I made this for the same girl who asked me for the collar and the wristbands [link] .
Normally it would have been a normal belt pouch but she asked me to put a D-Ring on either side so she could attach a shoulder strap and wear it like a purse.

I used 4.5mm thick leather for the body and the sides and 2.5mm thick leather for the straps.

Sewing this piece was kind of interesting as I have never sewn around a corner before.

What did you do to make it keep its shape?

It is a rahter sturdy leather and keeps it shape by itself.
You can't see it on the photo, but the opening under the lid doesn't go completely from one side to the other. The Body continues in 2cm wide straps on either side to meet up where the lid begins. There I sew 2 or 3 stiches overlapping and that is all it took.

Phew describing it is kinda difficult. I hope it makes sense to you

Makes great sense
And I learned thick leather will keep its shape on its own

Thanks

I sewed this without a form (a wooden disc or something like that) to put into the bag or any means of fixing the material and it was quite a hassle.
You might find it easier to prepare these beforehand.

I've done half-round corners on pouches and yeah, they can be a hassle, mainly cause the inside curve diameter means you have to use a different stitch spacing or double up on the holes. I do prefer being able to get to both sides most of the time rather than stitch over a last though
