Hahaha... :) (Smile) Thanks. Funny thing is, central Pennsylvania is the closest to "home" I've lived since 1990 when I joined the Air Force... I did 4 yrs in Texas, 4 in central Alabama, 1 and 1/2 near Oklahoma City... then here in 2000... Of all those places, the hills, the people here are most like home than any of these other places. 2 big differences... (or 3?) more jobs, more taxes, and very slightly cooler weather... and a LONG ways from family... :) (Smile)

Well, I'm in the NW corner of Ark and you wouldn't believe how much this area has GROWN!! I still love it here--green and hilly!!!

I've been up through there in recent years... Wal Mart, Tyson, etc., etc., has caused the buildup of the region... but it's still a great place to be... I am from Montgomery County, down near Hot Springs and Lake Ouachita... I lived there for about 150 years... that is to say, my family homesteaded there in the 1850's and it'll always be home.

Yes...you've named the main businesses in this area. I'm in Washington county. I'm a few miles from the U of A!! Go Hogs!! I can't wait to take pics of Old Main!

Wow--150 years?! I bet that you have tons of relatives in the nearby cemetaries!

I started writing stories of my childhood... fictionalized... based on my own memories... Somewhere last year I ran out of words... I have more ideas, more thoughts to put down, I just haven't had the whatever it is needed to write them down anymore... but that one is my favorite of all that I have written... (there's a book version of all these stories available (link on the page) but so far I've only sold copies to myself to give as gifts)...

Not a problem... the 'proper' way would be to go to the oldest post and go forward... it's 100% me.. 90% accurate other than names and places.. more closer to 100% if you take it as a little boy would have seen it... the world was simpler then and especially when I started I was trying to grab the innocence that I had back then.. Enjoy!
