wow your work is amazing. I always wonder where people like you live, never see stuff like that around my place, or within a good 50 miles.

i used to feel a similar way about the work i admired because i couldn't find anything around where i lived either. a couple things i learned about interesting photography is that being in a city really helps. where i live (in colorado springs) there isn't much, but there are some good subjects. i search industrial areas for most of my local city pictures, and for all my really good stuff i generally travel. so far i've taken pictures in chicago, san francisco, and toronto. there is definitely a niche for nature work, but it's a very difficult area to get really good results from. being in college art classes is good for candid portraits, or just sitting at a street corner and shooting. the most important think i learned is that wherever you live, there are probably wonderful subjects waiting to be discovered. that's the reason why i got into macro in such a big way. many things that are boring at distance and wide angles tend to get interesting when you get really close.

Yesterday wasn't too good, but today was better. I'm bummed because I didn't get to go out and take photos today, it was raining.

i'm glad you were feeling better, but i'm sorry to hear you couldn't go out. that's the sad thing about rain.
