I loved drawing this picture. I liked the challenge of how to do the floor.First, it's all brick, then you have the light from the windows and the light from the roof. I lost count of how many times i thought that i was done with it then decided to erase something.
Have you ever had one of those moments where you just can't seem to get some thing on your drawing right and you try and try, and then suddenly you look at it and think "I really like that" but have absolutely no idea how you did it? Thats how the floor was for me.
Looking at it now I think, now why couldn't I have just thought of that in the first place, but when you are looking at it as just a sketch, and have no idea what it looks like at night, little things like where the lights on the floor go, is kind of a big deal.
Anyways, enough of my rambling. This picture only took me a month to draw. It's done with prisma colored pencils and some black ink and white gel pen.
I hope it looks alright on everyone's computers, it looks fine on mine, but I also think the pictures do the real drawing justice.

Now that's some beautiful piece, and it looks like they have a glass roof to protect them from bad weather as well. like being in a shopping mall.

that's really good. How in the world did you get the colors so solid? Whenever i color, i find there are small white spots in the picture that really bother me. Is there any way to make the colors more solid and concrete?

Thank you, I'm glad you like it. There are a couple different ways to get the colors to look more solid. First, you can layer colors, lots and lots of layers. Second, blenders. There are a couple different kinds, blending stumps (which is just tightly rolled up paper), a colorless blender (which looks like a pencil, but the lead is kind of clear, I use this one the most). You just go over the area you want blended, like you were drawing. You could also take a hair dryer, point it at the area you want blended. At the same time, take a blending stump and just blend the area. I use all three in every picture I do. You can find everything at any craft or art store. Happy coloring!
