Description
One of the 11 designs that I did for NDK this year. The theme was Japanese mythos. Also for their mascots, the males have white hair and a black streak, and females have black hair with a white streak.From Tales of Genji, she's depicted as a radiant beauty carrying her fan in one hand, and a moonflower (which looks like a stark-white hibiscus) in the other.. I just wanted to draw that scarf and play with it's translucency

whats the story behind this character and NDK 08 - Yukionna, because im doing an art project on japanese folklore, and im interisted in the characters.

Yugao is from the Tale of Genji. If you just google her and Yukionna you'll get a ton of info on their respective lores.

The glow from the flower adds an ethereal air to her face. It's quite lovely!

So many pretty glowies. D= I love the shining moon and star decor in her hair. The starry-night sash wrapping around her is a really nice touch, as is the glowing flower in her hands. Very cool!

Oooooh wow.. This came out looking really beautiful! I heart the darkness of it, but then the brightness of the stars and the flower. I have to say.. i am really loving your japanese themed pictures.
