Description The working title was 'outline exsanguinate' but that was too pretentious, even for me.

It is built from 2-3 base paintings done with screenprinting ink, acrylics and some other detritus, assembled together in PS CS3. The base paintings were old (between 3-7 years) but had until now not been found a final configuration thsi way.

It is quite asymmetrical and busy, but there are anchor points in it for my own eye that I hope is not totally lost on others (but if it is, that is just how things go).

One of my favorite things to do with abstract art is to look at the lines, patterns, textures, colors, etc., and then see if any "defined" images spring forward in my brain. For example, in "excision v7" I see a bird -- specifically an eagle -- with its back to the painting, looking over its left shoulder. My mind brings that to foreground, placing the blue in the background, and I end up with a very vivid image of powerful, strong eagle. It's safe to assume this wasn't what you set out to create, but the beauty of abstract art is that it's open to interpretation and this piece provoked great visuals for me.

beautiful work Z.
the color scheme is almost that of some
native american object or artifact.
actually the more i look at it the more i can
envision some sort of tribal ceremony and/or dance
being performed.
the splattering in the center a fire,...embers
being thrown up into the sky. obscure forms slashing
in and around the flames against the backdrop of other
less defined forms,...swaying,...coming in and out
of focus.

hmmm.
no Z. i haven't been smokin' the peace pipe tonight.
heh.
well done man.

Nothing is too pretentious for me.

Great mix in feel between the digital and the visceral [physical] in this. Even though it's busy it hangs together very well, as long as it's all seen at once and not chopped by scrolling

This is awesome! How did you create the variation of colour on the central curve??
