Roaming from through the reaches of a ruined, ravaged world, his pain and anguish was eventually sensed by The Goddess, who sought to ease his pain.

Discerning his grief as well as his will to prevent others from sharing the same fate as he did, She she offered him a place within Her inner sanctum of followers. Though reluctant at first, Umbra eventually accepted The Goddess' offer and was blessed by Her divine power. His once dead eye now granted him untold power, allowing him to become as the shadows that once pledge his heart. From day that forth, he has carried out the will of his Goddess with ruthless efficiency and cunning, setting all wrongs right and maintaining order throughout the multiverse.
