I think Fable 3 was the weakest game of the series (gameplay-wise), was because it took the most risks. It had the sanctuary instead of a standard pause menu, implemented the touch system, and weapon morphing. I just think some of these new ideas they brought to the table haven't been fleshed out enough.

Fleshed out or in some cases thought out... I do like some of the risks it took. The sanctuary was good, but it needed more explaining. The mini-map was an absolute NIGHTMARE (speaking of, one thing Fable 3 did VERY well was the first time you encountered the Crawler. It was the first time in recent history that I was jumping at shadows OUTSIDE the game!) The touch system was good, but why no follow option too? I can understand my prince taking the hand of his lady-friend, but why every citizen I want to take somewhere? And the emote system was just BAD, worse than in Fable 2. Why am I errotically dancing with everyone I come across?! A TALK option would be nice, especially as our hero is voiced! Or at least a way to pick the interaction! And on the subject of choice, WHY are the weapon morphs random? Let me choose, dammit!
And don't even get me started on why there isn't an option to tell your subjects to WAIT until the invasion by the LIGHT-DEVOURING HORROR FROM BEYOND THE STARS is over before bugging you for stuff! Why am I building accademies and orphanges and re-constructing Aurora before the war is over? Where's the option to tell them to wait? While I'm at it, some neutral choices would be nice too, like an option to exile Logan once you've defeated him! And then there's the sudden jump from over a hundred days left to, "Oh god they abominations are here!" There's no warning THAT little time skip is coming! Or how about an option, or at least some DLC to let us keep playing as king longer than one year!
The game felt rushed too. What they should have done is have it be two-disk. Revolution on disk one, you ruling Albion on disk two. Simple! But no... Bleh. And no sign of a Lost-Chapters-esque fix for this either.

The mini map needed to be exactly like the maps in game, that's for sure. The touch system also had a good idea, but it needs to bring back the expressions wheel, and have options for having a villager follow behind you. That and I don't know why the villager shrinks in size when you interact with them.
As for the weapon morphs, they all need to work like the Hero weapons do. I like that they change based on what you specifically do in the game, but I'd like the changes to be more obvious, and for the legendary weapons to drop the "do 3 things to max out this weapon."
The day skipping didn't bother me since I noticed the trend early on in the first half of the second part of the game. I do see the pettiness of some of the choices now at that current point in time, but I think Walter said it best when people may not understand what is going to happen, or believe it. But still, there should be an option to choose the evil choice and then reverse it later (well, you can't reverse it in all cases, but in terms of setting taxes and such, that's reversible).
The game was definitely rushed, which is a shame, because I had fun playing it and it could have been so much better. I mean, the story was neat, the characters were great, and the graphics were great. The gameplay was just a little rusty. I think it suffered a bit from Silent Hill 4 syndrome.

Not familiar with that disease Here's an idea for weapon morphs: When you level a weapon up via the road to rule (no experience my ass. It worked just the same way!) let us see what forms we've unlocked and PICK one for out heroic weapon! My weapons... God they looked a mess. And they were out-performed by the heroics, which I found a bit disapointing. It's more engaging if you take your weapons, left to you by your father and gradually turn them into legends in their own right.
And even if people DON'T understand the threat (which they do, look at the economy colapsing), you're the KING! It's not as if you need to worry about re-election! Let them suck it up a while, then give us a chance to change things later. Oh and the revolution was disapointing: Gather followers, gather followers, gather followers! Right, we have an army! Raargh! Oh, one battle and it's all over? Albion felt too small. I wanted to take it city by city, meter by bloody meter, liberating the people and feeling like it was a struggle, but one that was WORTH IT!
An option to influence those fights would be good too. Like so:
Walter: Alright, we'll need to distract the garrison here, or they'll come down on us like a ton of bricks!
Ben: That's suicide, look at the aproach! Any attacking force will get shot to bits before they get anywhere near the buggers!
Walter: Your call, your highness. If we send men in there, they'll pay a butcher's bill, but it'll keep the main attack, under your command, safe to hit the square. Or you can leave them alone and trust you can hold them off.
Choice: Send troops to attack the garrison (Evil), or fight the garrison yourself (Good)
Something like that, you know what I mean?

This is so awesome. I love the sweeping emotion of charges into battle and this has it. The way he says it quietly instead of the expected warcry adds to it.

This looks totally awesome, Zera! I love the emotion, I love the background, I love the movement, and I love the sketchiness of those shadow-y guys in the last panel.
Epic! ;D
