PSCS 4 (2manyhours)Ok, so this is all from my head. I was actually going to use this for the shirt design challenge that's been up for the past couple of weeks... buuuut... I failed to read the rules before-hand and didn't realize that the shirt was more design oriented than... well... whatever this painting is. So basically this isn't getting on any shirts, though I may try to throw something together by tomorrow night to get in somehow.
Anyways, critiques on the painting here would be nice. I spent way too long on it, but I feel I learned a great deal, so in the end, the time was well spent.

When you see a creature of that scale, and you still want to try and take it down...you've got bigger balls than you have brains. But if you can take it down, then you're something special. Brilliant work indeed.

I absolutely love the creature design. It's head is still so snake-like, and unlike most traditional dragons. I think it adds a lot to the concept.

honestly, a good piece. I do however feel like the stillness of the picture isn't capturing the anticipation of the moment. The piece feels passive and not engaging other than being nice to look at. I'm not holding my breath with the knight as he gazes upon his foe. Anyway, I still like the composition.

And personally, that is the look I was going for. Originally there was nothing in this image but the dragon. At least in my mind. I was tired of seeing all the angry pissed off dragons all the time, and decided, maybe they aren't always so ill tempered. This guy popped out and I figured, why be ill tempered if you're so large that nothing can stop you? Kind of a calm before the storm moment. Serene, yet... impossibly large. Meh, I dunno, what do you think? =o
