Description YAY I FINISHED before Halloween!

Yes, I did put more blood on him. BECAUSE I CAN.

Yes, I fail at blood. I don't have many good brushes with PS, I have an old version and an even older Mac, and I couldn't find any splatter brushes that looked compatible with both my version of PS and my OS. So I just winged it with the tools I had.

Super huge thanks to all the people who commented and left me advice on the sketch, particularly ~seikou whose laundry list was *so* specific that I really think I improved. I tried to address everything that people mentioned, to the best of my ability, so there will still be fails here but I really, really tried Also thanks to my husband just for telling me it looked good while I kept working on it.

Okay, now, if you have not seen "Shaun of the Dead", oh my god, go see it. If you liked "Zombieland" you will probably like "Shaun". The ONLY reason not to see this film is if you don't like zombies, full stop. It's not really scary, a bit gorey and there is one scene towards the end that is a bit hard to... er... stomach (please forgive the pun if you know what I'm talking about), but otherwise, this movie is just a thing of beauty. I am so in love with it I've been bringing it flowers and chocolates and singing to it from underneath its window. I'm just that far gone.

Just couldn't hold myself back from commenting on this (go figure). I love Shaun of the Dead! I need to rewatch it. That and Hot Fuzz. Anyway, this is brilliant! The expression and stance (good use of references), the zombie with the bony finger. Happy belated 2011 halloween :d

Aww, thank you so much! This is actually my all-time favourite of my own works. Mainly because I love Shaun of the Dead beyond words, and I'm just pleased with my having been able to cross it over with DWD. XD (And yeah, I LOVE Hot Fuzz too. Those two movies... man.)

One of the best zombie movies out there. I'm such a zombie film nut: all the Romero films, Return of the films, Zombi, Night of the Creeps, Slither, and all sorts of crazy stuff.

If Disney ever does a zombie series, they know what picture to get an inspiration from! :3 Love it!

I really have issues with zombie movies, sometimes I don't find them scary at all due to being so unlikely - sometimes I really enjoy them - and sometimes I cannot take them in the slightest. This one is one of the perfect ones for me. ^_^ ("Slither" is one of the ones I can't take, gaaaah)

The Italian 'Zombi' movies might spook ya, though. D: The first film they made is a gorified 'director's remix' of the original Dawn of the Dead, and then they made their own series after. xD A lot of them are pretty painful to watch now and again. D:

Hee, thanks! The face nearly got screwed up during inking, lol.

I'm going to comfort myself on the Cuca possibility by saying that the only zombies are freshly dead people and thus Cuca is long gone and not walking around to break hearts anew. And you only said that to be meeean.

I actually think the idea of her as a zombie would be hilarious. Could you imagine this little three foot zombie going "JALAPEEENOOOOSSS"? I mean, how would you react to that? I wouldn't try to shoot its head off. I'd be too busy laughing and knowing it can never reach my brain.

Absolutely love this! Shawn of the Dead was a hilarious zombie spoof movie and I can easily picture Drake as the main character. Drake looks fantastic, I love how you colored the tie headband and you even got his hands proportional to his body!

Thank you! The hands, I owe almost completely to who gave me some great advice that's helped immensely with most of my sketches by now. Not that I can easily draw hands now but there's been improvement, which is a plus. ^_^

Yaaaay thank you! If I had a better version of Photoshop I could've picked up some good splatter brushes but I don't. On the other hand this was the first pic where I actually realized "Oh hey, look, OTHER BRUSHES!" so now I can use them in other pics. Haha. the things you stumble upon.

I was thinking about putting up just the pic of the zombies (since I did them both in separate files before combining). There are some details that are covered up. In addition to the boney finger, the same guy has one finger missing, which you can just barely see if you view fullsize; I put some red in there to show it. I had a ton of fun inking the zombies and then Drake stood in front of them and covered them up.

Thanks! So, so proud of this, and I especially appreciate your advice for his right arm, and the sizing on the hands. Those were the two biggest things for me and you really helped me figure out how to fix 'em instead of just confirming that they needed work.

Oh you should so see it again. The first time I saw it I really liked it but the second time I LOVED it. There are so many things that jump out at you more the second time.

Heh, thanks! I nearly didn't do this pic, 'cause I had the idea but I'm horrible on follow-through. But then I rewatched the movie (yet again) and everyone was talking about zombies and I just thought, I HAVE TO, and I'm just really relieved it came out as well as it did. I'd hate to waste such a fun idea.

It would be funny to see Drake taking on a zombie Megavolt, Quackerjack, and Negaduck (it be difficult to envision Bushroot and the Liquidator being zombies since they are not flesh and blood though).

Yeah, Bushroot and the Liquidator - well, I could SEE them as zombie style but I have no idea how they'd get that way, LOL! I think I remember someone drawing at the very least a zombie Megavolt and it was truly frightening O_o

Well, that makes sense. I mean Megavolt is basically a giant rat, and when you look at it that way he's scary without even being a zombie, so a zombie Megavolt would be incredibly scary.

I think my favourite part of Shaun of the Dead was that annoying asshole who got pwned by zombies. It was disgustingly cathartic for me, lol.

This came out great! I've always found Drake's body to be difficult to draw. I think you have a really good grasp on it!

LOL that is seriously the *only* part I find to be intensely gorey. And it comes out of NOWHERE because the rest of the movie hasn't been like that. He's so totally the only character I don't mind dying but gaaaaah! I mean, I laugh, and it's not disturbing for me, but it's the only part that truly makes me cringe. The rest, eh, it's a comedy as far as I'm concerned. ^_^

So thanks! I am pretty happy with his body here. I think his general shape is very odd and hard to get a hang of, but I think I might have it now - if not the genuine on-model look, something that is close enough and that I can do consistently, which is just fine with me.
