Description I always had a feeling that, if Scrooge McDuck and Darkwing met, they would not particularly take to one another. Scrooge doesn't like many folks and DW doesn't like anyone who doesnt' like him (and sometimes he doesn't like the people who do, either).

I know in the comics they already did meet, but it was offscreen; still I thought there was a bit of an implication that they hadn't precisely hit it off. I guess we'll see how they interact in the upcoming DWD/DT crossover. Meanwhile here's this

Darkwing looks alright here, not great but passable. Scrooge... is a bear to draw I practiced him a TON, believe it or not, and this is about as good as I got. But I'll get better eventually, I suppose... Anyway, they're coloured with Prismacolours and then I did that weird yellow background in Photoshop b/c just the white was really plain. The scanner completely screwed up how the colours looked Ehhhh well. Not my best work, but I stayed up really late doing it last night, so I'm putting it up.

Oh, btw, my son got ahold of this for about five minutes so there are a couple of random orange crayon marks on it. I think I got them all, but just in case...

Scrooge McDuck is (c) Disney and Carl Barks? Correct me if I'm wrong and Barks didn't actually create Scrooge... I know somebody here will know

I'm not even sure they'd get THAT far, lol, though there might be polite and grudging "Yeah hi nice to meet you" "Likewise" *pause, to self at the same time* "Jerk."

I always figured Scrooge and Darkwing would sometimes asks LP "Why the heck do you like that guy, ANYWAY?!", naturally referring to the other. XD Plus, i thought that LP left Duckburg (for good) because of wanting to meet Darkwing, and that left Scrooge hating the guy before he even met them. Scrooge did know LP since he was 16...I imagine after all those years he has grown even a smiggen affectionate towards him.

That aside...

EEEEE! Scroogey! As a Scrooge fangirl, I am very very very happy you drew him. He looks awesome! (Darkwing does too...but He's not Scrooge! )

Oh I'm certain deep down that Scrooge is very fond of Launchpad. He just doesn't show it. At all. Hey he cried when he thought LP was dead! I always loved that. ^_^ And I do think you're probably right that he'd just hate Darkwing for that reason alone, lol... Yeah and I never got the feeling that LP kept working for Scrooge. At all. He seemed too omnipresent around the house in St. Canard, he was there for permanents... Plus he clearly hadn't seen Fenton in a while (and he says "We used to work for the same guy" so... USED TO, right?)

I wonder why LP is drawn to hanging out with guys who treat him like baggage? Poor baby. He needs a hug. Oh sure, he doesnt' KNOW it, but he does.

I just like having the excuse.

Yay! Glad you like it! I was planning on trying to learn to draw Scrooge anyway for a different reason, but I have to admit, finding out you're a Scrooge fangirl kinda egged me on anyway. I *really* like drawing him, but I have a ways to go. I guess stylistically he's just so different from what I'm used to that it gives me problems... I dunno why, his design seems so simple, but I can't *get* it.

Yeah, that was one thing that bugged me about the Duck Tales and DWD comics. they gave it the impression that LP still went back and forth from Duckburg to Saint Canard. Which struck me as WEIRD. Like you said, they mentioned that he USED to work for Scrooge. USED to...

I think LP just has the heart and can tell when guys with rough edges are actually nice people deep down. I honestly think the only reason he didn't see right through to Morgana, was because he was jealous at the time. (Why he was jealous can be up to fandom debate.)

I can get behind LP hugs.

To be fair, having the more duck-like body can throw anyone off. I say think "jelly bean" when you're drawing him. Maybe that'll help you. But frankly, I still think you made him look like a cutie...and wouldn't be against seeing him show up more.

Nice idea! I can't judge, but it is possible that could get along, since they fight on the same side: the enemy of my enemies is my friend.

Scrooge belongs solely to Disney, but you're right! He was created by Barks.

I do think they'd ultimately end up respecting each other and calling a truce, for certain - I just think they'd have a very rough start, lol! They're both such cranks. ;D (In a good way! )

Yeah, I guess ownership and creation are two different things when it comes to copyright... but I like to credit the creators, especially Barks, since he created such a huge amount of the Duckverse... Thanks for the confirmation!

Yeah, I see what you're getting at. Not bad, I like that sort of build-up to a friendship!

It is very sad, so what you did is very honourable. Barks is the god of the Duckverse, and even that of Anime/ Manga, if rumours are correct. I also try to at least mention Don Rosa with almost each deviation, because my style is practicly his...>>sight<<.

They just seem like the kind of guys who would disagree at first sight, don't you think? I mean, Gizmoduck gets along with nearly everybody but DW doens't like *him*. And Scrooge gets along with almost no one when he first meets them. So... seems logical. Thank you!

Well, me thinks Darkwing doesn't like Gizmoduck because Darkwing is a wee jealous of him. Gizmoduck can do the littlest of things and he gets all kinds of glory and he is lauded by the press, police, and polticians. Darkwing on the other hand, can do the very same thing as Gizmoduck, and he gets bashed, thrown in jail, or the deed goes unnoticed. So ya can see where Darkwing Ducky will be a wee mad at Gizmoduck

Oh I enjoy drawing Scrooge, don't get me wrong! I just had a hard time getting him right, which is funny because his design is basically pretty simple... just not what I am used to

And yes they so would clash, wouldn't they? LOL! Couple of grouches!

They're just both too temperamental! Very stubborn and both like to be in control, I think they'd automatically dislike one another (but probably respect each other by the end; it'd be like DW and Gizmoduck only times twelve, because Scrooge doesn't have Giz's general nice-guy thing going on.) Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Scrooge, but he is quite the grump.

Thanks! I actually was initially going to go for a slightly more restrained look of dislike from each of them, but... I dunno, when I got going, they just got more and more glary. And I like it that way.
