Derpy has a valid point. RD has such a ego, it would be hard to tell if she's being sincere or just trying to save face.

You know, if you want a reason for why Rainbow picks on Ditzy, if you look at Parental Guidance, Dizty used to beat Rainbow Dash in races and did until her eyes started crossing really bad. Doing it flying upside down is insult to injury.

Well, you're not really wrong. Rainbow is a pony, as are other ponies, and controlling how those two groups perceive her is the primary motivator driving dear Dashie. I just question whether it's necessarily bad to act in a certain way primarily in order to maintain a certain self-image.

Well, she does have good reason to be bitter....years of experience in dealing with an assbucket. It doesn't matter that said assbucket thinks that she's gotta succeed or she'll be equine garbage in everypony's eyes but what does matter is the mess she left in her wake.

Yeah, even though Derpy may seem resentful*, we, the readers (who see things that Derpy isn't privvy to) haven't really seen anything that says she wants to make up to Derpy, but that these are all more to make amends to Pinkie so she will talk to her again (and so Dash won't have to fear for her life.)
*As for resentment? Maybe. But considering in this story they've grown up together and she's had to put up with years of this crap... let's just say that normally I'm almost too forgiving but when it comes to people who made my life hell in school... yeah, I wouldn't have been talking to Dash even before I heard she was stealing invitations.
