I will say of all the images that came to mind when Sylvian told me she commissioned you to do Malik, I wondered what the BG would be like and OHHH THIS. THIIS <3 nothing like I pictured LOL such a happy dream ;y;

I really was having trouble coming up with something, because i really try to make sure when i have free reign over the bg, that i incorporate as much of the characters established personality and history as i can. But i was having trouble settling on what exactly I wanted? I dont know what type of kingdom he hails from exactly, but something about his design made me think almost... desert prince? so its kinda meant to be him escaping for the afternoon and just Chilling out and dreaming? maybe of places he's never had the chance to go yet idk. I had like a paragraph to work from so its entirely possible that the impression i got, is a bit off, but, i tried? lol.
and whale sharks are pretty omg. i wanna see one up close one day out in the ocean. I know a few aquariums have some, but that always seems sad to me. not enough for the big guys imo.

tbh I thought of Desert Prince as well, when I was making the human version of him, as Sylvian wanted one. xD something way out in those faraway lands, so your not alone in that aspect! AND YOU DID GOOD. ;y; the important thing is Sylvian loves it <3 hell I love it. I think this is a neat idea for a dream.
They're so huge, I'd be lucky to even see on in an aquarium D:

but yeah i mean, the largest whale shark ever recorded was over 40 feet long, and its believed that they can grow even larger than that. idk. I mean yeah it would be could to see one even in an aquarium, but i wonder if they feel really cramped or somethinΒ

Well the do also feed pretty much only on like plankton and stuff and have fairly calm demeanor so they are actually okay to be housed with other creature, and you can swim right up to them in wild for the most part. They may be the biggest, but are probably one of if not the least dangerous shark species out there at least to us.
