is this the right section for this? hmm i had no idea where to put this...Anyways, heres another picture from my campus wanderings(others located here [link] ) this shot is one of the many that were taken on roofs...
this was toward the end of the night when the sun was just starting to come up... for me dawn is way more striking than sunset. the blues that r produced during dawn r some of the best ive seen...(hence this title)...
the technical bit:
fuji astia 100 shot with a Pentax H3
i dont remember the speed but from the look of the pic i estimate it was around 20-30secs(at f5.6)
removed some dust particles that had gathered on the slide at the time of scanning with photoshop...
for those inclined to comment, what im really curious about is what kinda 'feel' or 'mood' this photo gives off to u... for some reason i cant really interpret that part of my photos a lot of the time... sometimes its like im just staring at some abstract shape or something... hence im curious to gain insight into what others think...

Incredible. You wanted to know what kind of mood it gave me? Well.. I feel like this is what it would look like on the morning before the earth ended. Calm, peaceful, beautiful... and not telling the slightest bit as to what would happen that day. Okay, so I'm in a weird mood. Technically this is an excellent photo. The color saturation is fabulous.

I love how the sky blends so fluently. It's breathtaking, it really is. I don't think you can ever slow down, quality-wise, with your work. ::Knocks on wood:: I love the colors of the clouds.. I love everything.. please keep it up..

i really like the vivid blues you captured in this image....the sense of the world awakening (hence it being dawn)from a long sleep, is the feeling i get.

The clouds do really make this shot. They are deinitely the most emotive part of the picture for me, they remind me of those wonderful time elapse sequences you get in moveis sometimes (Devils Advocate and End of Days for example). For me the forground doesnt do much, maybe because the buildings are so cleanly shot that you focus on then and then dismiss them as uninteresting, but that sky.... amazing.

Stunning color... wow. Everything in this shot is amazing.
As far as the feedback on 'feel' you're looking for.. I don't find it soothing, I find it cold and exciting.. like the memory of getting up reallly early in the morning to leave on a long trip with your parents when you were a kid. Kinda dazed from not yet being fully awake, but the cold and nervous excietement gets you going... I don't know, it's the sky I think that gives me that feeling.

oooooh, tell me please please that this is not modified or filtered.... that is: blue. that is cerulean as a matter of fact..... oh, damn it, i just looked up and realized jimdown pegged it before i did. oh well, it's still cerulean.
now that i've finished going into seizures over that color, i must say i quite like how the clouds seem to be blurred in motion, like the entire sky was racing towards morning over your head.

Great sky colors and silhouettes of buildings, nicely contrasted. This has a nice calmness to it, nature winding down. I too like dawn better than dusk.
