One by one, I'm finising my commissions.For for her FIFTY DOLLAR COMMISSION.
Seriously, you guys must just feel sorry for me. I mean-
ah, well she is a wonderful person. So I tried
to give her a good picture, at the least.
This. Took. So. Long. I went through so many different
rough color drafts until I found one that I liked, and let
me tell you, I LOVE it. I LOVE it, bold and italics!
And as those IRL know: Purple. Purple. The best
base color to ever use. I WILL PREACH IT. CAN I HEAR AN AAAAAMEN?
But no, seriously. Purple is a wondful color to use, and even
better for Mariku. It just shows his character very well.
I've gotten a lot better with my coloring.
I am still doing, and would very, very much appreciate
a commission order.
It doesn't have to be Yuugiou fanart, either. I'd
like to stress that a lot.
PS: That's not Ra in the background. It's a Battletoad.

The key to a good color scheme is to first, well, pick a basic color that you want
your piece to center around. Mine was purple, here, obviously.
Then put together your color pallette. Though, to keep it looking uniform and
not 'rainbow' like you said, I usually only pick up to around seven colors. The key is to reuse those
colors all throughout the picture, having it come off as harminous with the matching hues.

i like the dark atmosphere in this pic a lot 
i like the fact that you used purple and blue to shade dark areas and yellow,orange for the light areas.
one of the things i don't like is the way you shaded his right arm,it looks kind of weird and...smudgy
