In honor of Allen's triumphant return (spoiler.... (¬_¬)a maybe that was a little late....) I present....! Lavi?!

*Allen attacks Chie*
ALLEN: "WTF?! Why are you drawing LAVI?!"
CHIE: *in pain* "If you weren't so effing hard to draw it wouldn't have been a problem...."
ALLEN: *slightly embarrassed* "Well, I guess you have a point I mean, my hair seems to change styles ever chapter, and it's hard to draw my face since I have that weird bishounen thing with girlish-yet-masculine going on...."
CHIE: "Totally!"
LAVI: *whispers* "Plus, she just thinks I'm cooler..."
CHIE: *blushes and flirts with Lavi* "Totally! I mean, how were we not MADE for each other! I'm the Bookgirl and you're the Bookman Jr!"
ALLEN: *Kanda-like angry effects*

*Ahem* Anyway!

I like this drawing a lot, but as a drawing of Lavi it's not very good, I think. The sketch was much better, so I'll probably redo it and pay more attention to my original lines instead of just slapping the colors on over them. I'd like to do more with D.Gray, not just Lavi but all the characters, since it's one of my favorite series. (How much do I love it? When I get the latest JUMP I always read D.Gray first before Bleach and One Piece.) Hoshino's style is so different from my own, though, it's hard for me to capture the feel of the characters.

I like Lavi's character because of the whole book connection, plus he's just a great character. He's playful but gets the job done, he cares a lot for everybody, and his conflict between his duty as a Bookman, his duty as an Exorcist and his loyalty to his friends gives him a lot of realistic weight.

The BG is just copy-pasted from the pattern on the back of every D.Gray book.

And while I love Lavi to bits and pieces, the three of them (Allen, Kanda and Lavi) are all of equal coolness with me. Which means I love all of them to bits and pieces... XD ♥

In other news, I am now officially a Fables addict. Well, I suppose I've always been an addict of fables, but now I'm an addict of the comic book from Vertigo as well. While my internet was down I couldn't bear to work on my computer, so I did a bunch of sketches in my hardcopy sketchbook, including one of Snow and Bigby. As soon as I get my hands on a scanner I'll make it all purrdy and subject you to my latest fandom.
