Aleutian Minicipal District is located on Commander Islands of the Kamchatka Krai.
The Islands are named in honor of Vitus Bering whoc discovered them in 1741 and is buried there.
The district is a place of mixing the Aleut and Russian cultures and has a great potential for devolpment of arctic tourism.
The Commander Islands are located in the south-western part of the Bering Sea, which in turn, is a part of the Pacific Ocean.
