Description This is a pen and ink pointillism drawing I did of a simpler time, before computers, x-box and all of the distractions of the “modern world”, when the passing of a train would leave young lads in awe

Great drawing! I love the attention to details!
I'd like to point out though at that time the train WAS one of the "distractions of the “modern world”"

same thought appeared here
not to mention the fact that the speed obviously will kill people

non the less, its both true. I think I still would watch in awe, just like I play a good game in awe, or look at clouds at awe.

Once I pointed out the great sky to a friend and he was overwhelmed, not only by its beauty, but by his own limited perception by his train of thoughts.

lets get out and enjoy the sun for a break

cheers

This is amazing. Pointalism is so underated and under done and its nice to see it for a change.

This train leaves me in awe. The smoke is absolutely amazing, I just want to cuddle up in it! I like the detail on the train too and the pebbles under the track must have taken such amazing patience! They look incredibly realistic.

Wow, what a contrast in there! You really have a great and special style! Funny how you invert the clarity of depth. I mean, your baskground is darker than your foreground. This is unusual! Your sky is empty but this emphasizes the gorgeous texture of steam!
And this boy with his dog on the bottom right have some Norman Rockwell touch. This is definitely fabulous! How can you have so few drawings on DA with such skills?!

I am very impatient to see your future work

Fantastic. It has a nice vintage feel to it. Like it belongs in some old novel, or on a wall in an old time train station.

your technique is indeed impressive. i have once tried pointilism but it was on a smaller scale, but even then i thought it was very hard. considering this is a rather large piece, how much did it take you to finish?
