This is a pen and ink pointillism drawing I did of a simpler time, before computers, x-box and all of the distractions of the βmodern worldβ, when the passing of a train would leave young lads in awePen and Ink on Illustration Board
Finished size is 24" x 36"

Love this picture - particularly the boy and his dog and the huge cloud of smoke coming out of the train. Didn't realise quite how magnificent steam trains were til I saw a documentary a couple of years ago showing a working locomotive pulling carriages on a preservation line. Suddenly I understood the magic of them! Such wonderful pieces of engineering, independent of overhead lines. Your piece captures the spirit of them that enchants people. Me and and a thousand other people would love to be that little boy in the picture!

Wonderful! It's outstanding to see pointillism works nowadays. I just would complain about the smoke because it seems lots of crumpled paper or flowers... but who am I to complain about such a detail considering the full master work? After all, for sure I could not make something so good and neat. Congratulations!

Your problem with the smoke is probably because it is on a blank background. If there was more contrast it might not look so out of place.
