Description
Update 2/25/2017 - Added side views for heads and redrew some pictures.
I've had this thing in my head for months now : '0 but I never got around to making it!
Jellops are a sub-species of jellocats. Thought it'd be good to finally give an origin that can cover all the jellocat, jellofox and jellogon concepts.
Anyway, here's the information and vital stuff -
JELLOPS ARE AN [OPEN] SUBSPECIES! That means you can make a jellop whenever you want, as long as you read and follow the guide + rules.
It is not mandatory to register jellops on the masterlist!

How they are made
Jellocats are simple little gelatin creatures (none of them are ever bigger than a normal cat) that are divided into three shaped types – squiggly, cubed, and mixed. The first few have originated from simple fruit jello cups, which, when approached by a magical spirit energy, comes to life. Their physical bodies are formed when no one decides to unpack and eat the gelatin dessert, and they take the chance to escape into the outer world.
The first form that jellocats and other jellocreatures take is the jellop form, something that is physically simpler and purer in magical energy. Jellops ar
Special Features + Jellop Subspecies Background
A jellop is the first, simple form that is taken when a gelatin food is taken over by magical energy. Through merging with one or more than one jellop, it can transform into a jellocat, jellofox or even a jellogon. There are only cubed and squiggly jellops. Unlike jellocreatures, both cubed and squiggly shape types are of the same rarity. This is because the merging process commonly results in a squiggly jellocreature! It is a bit more challenging and time-consuming for jellops to mold themselves into a perfectly cubed or mixed type form. Below are some normal merging results:
Squiggly + Squiggly = Squiggly / Cubed + Squiggly = Squiggly or Cubed / Cubed + Cubed = Squiggly or Cubed or Mixed
- Mutations may occur if compatibility is not strong!
- Jellops that are very compatible with each other have higher chances of merging into a cubed or mixed shape jellocreature.
Appearance and Anatomy:
A jellop is a tiny, mouse-like creature completely made of gelatin, keeping only one food in their body for energy absorption. They have large eyes and ears, with no visible nose. Their head is rather big as well. The forelegs are short and stubby, while the hind legs are longer and chubbier. A squiggly shaped jellop has rounder features (significantly at the pupils, ears, paws, tail tip and general body shape); same goes for cubed jellops, except that they're more cuboid. Cubed jellops have thicker/squarer paws.
In terms of motion and behaviour, squiggly jellops are nimble, fast, but easy to fall apart. To prevent this, they make sure to rest in slug-form when necessary. Cubed jellops are much clumsier, since they have thick, cubed paws and legs; they don't fall apart as easily as the squiggly jellops do.
Jellops mostly move around on hind legs, but if in a sticky situation they'll run as fast as they can on all fours. They use their long tail for balance.
- Jellops are a little drippy due to a constant amount of heat in their body, caused by their spirit energy - which is still at the purest form. (Note: Transformed jellocreatures have solid gelatin) This actually helps with merging.
- Jellops could share magical energy with lifeless gelatin to give them life.
- Shapeshifting is also an ability jellops have, just like jellocreatures. However, they cannot split their body into segments since that's too risky, with what little gelatin they have.
- Jellops do not have some complex features that jellocreatures have. This means that they don't have filling, other substance, coating etc.
The Features jellops can have are:
COMMON: Varied level of gelatin concentration (consistent concentration) / Cuts and scars, missing body parts
UNCOMMON: Gelatin aura (entire body will glow due to a powerful spirit, which may spread certain emotions or sensations)
RARE: A mix of different gelatin concentrations (ex: transparency gradient from tail to shoulders)

Merging Jellops
If you want to get a jellocat/jellofox/jellogon with the jellops you have, you can only MERGE them through JELLOCAT EVENTS .
Remember to become a member of the group first, to make things more convenient to keep track of!
- Jellocats only need 2 jellops and 1 binding object, jellofoxes need 3 jellops and 2 binding objects, and jellogons need 4 jellops and 4 binding objects.
- You can only merge jellops using COMPATIBLE objects with the specific designs you have. This means you can't mix something like a soup jellop and a soda jellop, because the two foods clash.
WARNING: Don't just design a lot of jellops solely for merging if you don't really care about the jellop itself! That's just a bit pointless.
________
You are allowed to:
- Make as many jellops as you want
- Trade, gift, swap etc. with others
- Design a jellop with any features of any rarity
- Give your jellop some kind of hairstyle (nothing extreme though)
- Choose any kind of natural/man made food (just no food in packages/wrappers!)
You are NOT allowed to:
- Create jellops without being a member of Jellocats
- Sell adoptables of jellops
- Merge jellops together without permission
