About
Ghlostlings are magical beings that start off as nightmare ghlostlings (creatures made of dead creatures' blood, shadows and fear), but then turn into the normal ones. The transformation happens when a nightmare ghlostling meets a ghost, befriends it, then merges as one with it (can merge with a ghost for different reasons). Sometimes, it's the ghost that wants to be possessed, so it can 'live' again with its friend. It could also be that the nightmare ghlostling is greedy, and wants the easier life of a normal ghlostling, or wants to 'be one' with the friend. There are more normal ghlostlings than nightmare ones.

Ghlostlings use their goo blood to mark territory and help them get food. Nightmare ghlostlings trap prey with their slightly acidic goo, then eat them afterwards. Normal ghlostlings walk around and automatically absorb nutrients from decaying organisms, rich soil, plants etc. It's kinda hard for normal ghlostlings to starve, since it's so easy for them to eat. The only time where they'd have low energy is if they naturally have very little goo.

Fun Fact
I didn't realize until sometime later that ghlostlings were actually (unintentionally) inspired by a frog-goose hybrid my friend and I came up with. We called it the Froosge (froo-su-keh). It had similar anatomy lol.
