Sorry for the late reply, you probably don't even care even more but he's not made of paper. I just used a lot of layers, added shadows below, and then added paper texture packs in overlay to each layer separately.

Your chibi style is really cute! I like how you always make them look vaguely 3D in a flat-shaded way, the way you do it. It makes me want these chibis as 3D models or something.

Well it is a vector, I always replicate the original poses of image I'm using, I used the chibi because it had less details to cover than the big version.
