Our Word is Sacred:We have struggled against the chains of fate
We've lived our lives on the edge of hate.
Oppressed by the taunting of the foolish and blind;
It is time we stood and responded in kind.
No more can we sit here, content with our place;
Else by apathy alone we shall be erased!
Our work is like a candle, a small one at best;
It is quickly snuffed by a single breath...
For too long have we accepted, the concept of equality;
Whilst simply accepting the crumbs of poverty.
Our people go unheeded, as madmen and sloths;
The "cultured" eat like kings, while we are fed with broth...
To create these verses, it takes a lot of time;
Have you ever tried putting your thoughts in rhyme?
Have you dealt with the frustration, of grasping at words?
Trust me my friend, it is like hunting for birds...
To put this in a structure, to give poetry a form;
It can take some men from dusk till dawn...
Yet we slave away freely and we beg for a chance;
But all we have earned is a pitiless glance...
Instead we are told to fight for the "bone";
Like ancient gladiators from the city of Rome...
We are told that only one can be free;
And it has to be either you or me...

Brilliant way to make your point. I love it. Whoever says rhyming is easy clearly never tried very hard, because trying to rhyme words is a bitch. Hence why very little of my poetry rhymes. lol

Everyone has their own way to express but I was never one to get so elaborate. I follow the KISS principle, Keep It Simple Stupid. My dad taught me that and it seems to have worked well for me.

Zoey and I are very close so she automatically defends me seeing as there do exist those who would love to see me fall flat ^^. However, I love what I do and I love my friends, my crew and my fans ta no end.
That's why when I write, I write for them ^^

Well it might seem that way, but Zoey has a tough time for personal reasons. Sometimes she smiles but she isn't okay. I spend a lot of time with her so I can tell better than others. Of course, I mean no offense when I say this, but many people judge the situation too quickly. They receive information one-sidedly and believe that that is all there is to it.
Both Zoey and I have been huge victims of misunderstandings and even if you think that telling the truth should be a natural thing, it's never easy because opening our mouths gets us shut down. We learn to keep quiet and just let things pass. That is the reality of the situation that we and many others face nearly everyday.
It's not wrong to pick a side, but sometimes (as you might know from shows like law and order) the one who is playing victim is actually the one who is at fault.
TV shows us that truth wins out. Sadly, the reality is that most of us just weather the time inbetween :3

I know she has a tough time of things. My son is friends with her. He knows I'm very concerned for her well being in the situation she has at home. I happen to be someone who believes in God, so my prayers go out to her and her family everyday. And, I know I have been guilty of the judging. Also, I don't take offense easily so don't worry about that. I will definitely be back for more.

Well I hope to see you back then and I'm glad that you are guilty of judging, not because of the guilt but rather the fact that you are aware. Hopefully this means that the truth has hope of shining through and that is more than I can hope for.
Speaking of spirituality I am Buddhist by birth but take great interest in all religions both good and bad. I do believe in a Higher Power, but I choose to worship in my own way as being a part of religion would lead me to judge one over the other and without knowledge that is something I don't want to commit. Buddhism taught me critical thinking, Islam taught me to treat my fellows as my brothers, Christianity taught me forgiveness and understanding, Hinduism taught me of the importance of respect and the Norse Religion taught me that having honour is what will lead to a good life
