I know what you're thinking.It's obvious when I look at your face.
'He's a coward, he's immature, he's foolish'
And you're right...
I can't live up to your standards.
The pressure, the pace, the overload of information.
I can't take it.
I'm lost!
I don't know what I'm doing!
And I don't understand...
I'm not you.
I don't know what it's like to feel normal...
But what I do know, is what's in front of me,
And to me, it's frightening!
I really want to change myself,
(Because I hate myself...)
But please, understand, it's not that easy,
It's never easy, when you don't understand.
When you go through each day feeling different.
Because I'm not you...
But if 'you' are what I have to be,
Then I'm afraid I would rather not be, at all!

Very nice. I actually feel like that, sometimes. I know what you mean about not coming up with a title; that happens to me too many times to count... Although, sometimes it's because I'm just too lazy to think of a title.

This is sweet... this is the first time I am commenting on one of your poems but I read them every time I see them (or can get to a computer).
As for titles, I usually just go with words that feel like the poem, even if it seems to make no sense... plus a title will make it easier to find than having to search hopelessly for a poem that you loved but it's title was "..." or"." or even "... --- ...".

I can relate to this very well. I have ADHD andΒ dyslexia so I'm anything but normal. xD I don't think the same way normal people do yet, my parents and sometimes my best friend push me to act or think like "normal" people. Β I just can't because I'm not normal and I never will be normal. I will admit that I do the same thing to my best friend and I'm not proud of it.
I think the problem with this is that we as humans want to control things and if we don't understand something or in this case someone, we want to make them change so we can understand them. We fear things we don't understand and try to control it so when we can't understand people, we try to control them. Wanting to understand someone is good but trying to change them isn't. We have to realize that no one is perfect in this world and controlling people isn't the answer. It takes away free will. Just accept people for who they are and they will accept you...most of the time anyway.Β
Sorry forΒ rambling on. I just felt like that's what this poem was telling me.Β Β

This poem is insanely accurate.
I was actually able to get through these feelings.
It's extremely hard, yet extremely easy. Sometimes it's only a matter of unplugging yourself from the world, you know, taking a calm nature walk and not thinking about anything important. Other times I felt trapped. I'd be in a large room of people I didn't necessarily know, and now that I look back, I didn't feel trapped because I didn't know the people. I felt trapped since I felt judged by the people, like I'd never fit in. But your allowed to fit in- not with everyone, but with who you really want to be with.
I hope I'm not coming across as stupid or a preach or something, I'm just saying there's a way to get through it. And although being a teenager makes it 10x harder, getting through it makes you feel 100x better.

Some people will get through it, others might take a bit longer. It did take me quite awhile lol. I was definitely in my late teens before I started becoming outgoing...though now that I have a job and money and a good computer..I'm kind of back to being a shut-in...by choice though LOL Too much to do online :'3
